Well you obviously have the required respect for the opposition dont you !! A half decent team ??
To say Barrow is an insignificant club shows your narrow mindedness and distinct lack of rugby league knowledge. Barrow RLFC has a massive history. Not to long ago your mighty club was on the bones of its ar*e and facing oblivion mate. Was only a couple of seasons ago that Wigan got away with a quite large salary cap breach which cost Castleford a place in SL and maybe should have seen Wigan relegated - All history now but true all the same. Get your head out of your ar*e and look further than the M62 corridoor.
Why bother whingeing about a ticket if Wigan are going to whoop a less than half decent team at a crap ground (That is owned by the club incidently) ? I personally wouldn't bother my booty going all that way to watch a whooping ! Seriously mate underestimate Barrow at your peril. Craven Park is a proper ground and im pretty sure a massive majority of Wigan supporters would love to have the old Central park back. With plenty of supporters in the ground on the 5th the atmosphere will be a great one.
The allocation of tickets is not Barrow RLFC's fault . Blame the RFL for making false promises and your own club for allowing people to pick up 80 tickets at a time !
For the record I know of at least 1 Wigan season ticket holder who has PAID for a ticket just to make sure they got one instead of waiting for a freebie !
I was not suggesting to simply drive here and get a ticket. The Lake district and surrounding area has loads to offer - I said why not make a day of it and get a ticket at the same time.
I'll take the 'Real fans' quote back as you have a point but how many of the people who have a free ticket would be travelling if they had to pay because Wigan never take 10,000 to away games. I'd say the problem has arisen because the 4th round has been labelled a FREEBIE without the RFL thinking about how many grounds can actually accomodate this amount of travelling fans. Also Wigan should have come up with a better system (i.e a voucher or ticket stub from away games) I wish Barrow held 20,000 fans which would have kept all parties happy I think but it doesn't.
I hope your 'real' fans are successfull in getting tickets but it will be hard. Some seem to be getting them via phone.
