Example one, Smithies is our 13 imo. He really came of age last year and was arguably better than Knowles. Give him a bumper, multi year deal and the famous 13 shirt. He'd even be my skipper in a few years too.
Example 2, i'd rather O'Neill played at 9 & Cust at 6 than Pryce at 6 and Cust at 9. Pryce will be gone in a few years, as will Cust too (probably). O'Neill is our long term 9. He's a serious talent, as seen in our last game Vs Saints.
Pryce would be an outstanding player if you were not happy with securing him I don’t know who you would realistically want to target, the caveat though as you mention is length of deal.
If it was for 2 years…no thanks. 3-5 absolutely.
No point in signing someone if they are going to move to the NRL in the short term.
If we could get him and Smith on long term deals you have 2 of the most important positions potentially covered for years.
All speculation though, guess we will have to wait and see.
