Ideally a Paul Deacon type 1 year deal for an experienced half. Riley Jacks anyone on a 1 year deal? To play only if injury to Smith or Cust. Canada international so maybe not on the quota?
Mate I wonder what planet you are on.
Ellis started great but finished terribly.
Mago effective at times but also poor.
We have our back up half in Field.
How would an Australian who cannot get a start at Fev be any use to Wigan…let alone be non quota…because he has Canadian heritage.
I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am you are not involved in our club!!!
Would have a team full of kids combined with poor overseas players and you would be wondering why we we’re not competitive!

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Not slamming him but barely ever notice he’s playing.
I wouldn't blame him for that as he gets brought on late into the game, especially to the end of the season but when he came on he was taking it up twice a set. Ideally we need him at 13 as an extra prop IMO.
Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid. Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal. Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

It's fine that you disagree with me, that's the point of the website. But you don't have to be such a t0553r about it. It's no wonder nobody goes on here anymore when there's no debate just snotagrams getting sent.

Mate you carry on like a victim when someone disagrees with you.
Then say you are never watching Wigan again because the team takes a knee and supports equality.
….but I’m the bad guy.

All that business is over and done with and despite a few posters best efforts I won't be getting into a debate about it derailing threads. Despite it I do really try to not get personal and be nice and try to make a valid point.
This is the rumours ans signings thread, I floated/spit balled the idea of Riley Jacks the ex-Melbourne now scored 19 in 24 games for Fev who were one of the top teams in the division below, not the worlds worst idea lets be honest Jon as Cust and Smith are both young, with Leuluai retiring it leaves us with only Astley/Tyrer for cover in the halves and all four are under 23, I thought a bit of experience that wouldn't cost the the earth might be a decent idea, similar to Dunneman for Leeds when Burrow and McGuire came through of Deacon did in 2010 for us a bit of experience.

Deacon played majority of the games over the two years we had him though which is the difference.
Its going to be a difficult sell to anybody as they may see themselves as second fiddle to Cust and Smith. Its different when you already have the experienced player (Tommy) and then bring in youngsters.
Would I prefer if we had better cover at 6/7 absolutely 100%, I just don't think the club are going to prioritise it / don't think its realistic.
They may be happy with Field as cover for 6 given the fact that Bevan can move to 1 but the consequence of that is we then get very light on the wing very quickly and there are questions marks around Miski's quality.

Are there? Personally, I'm struggling to think of a 3rd choice winger who's as solid as Miski. If your argument about finding it hard to get good cover at HB, because there's two established guys in situ, then it's even more daunting for a winger with French and Marshall in front.
French Marshall Miski King (if Thornley is fit) Zach Eckersley
How many do we need and who could we sign (as a backup) who'd be better than the above?

Connor to Huddersfield apparently, another first team roadblock for Halsall ? If it doesn't work out with Toby King maybe we could have a look at getting him back next year ?
