If it is true that he has agreed a contract extension then I'm a little surprised that the club haven't announced this already unless they want to get the playoffs sorted or maybe link it with some other news?
Maybe Bateman going back to Australia could be part of the silence? I have zero knowledge of this other than a few rumours flying around and if French does stay how can we accommodate Field, Bateman and French within the cap?
As I say pure speculation on my part but I'm quite sure that a number of deals (in and out) have yet to be announced.
