If we went in to 2023 with options of Wardle, Thornley, KPP and Halsall, that would do me. I said we probably needed two after last week on the basis that Halsall didn’t seem like getting a chance but now he has, hopefully he can be one of the two.
There is no way we can sign both under the salary cap unless we get rid of somebody.

I’m confident we have wrapped up Wardle I just have a feeling about Leutele. I think something may happen in the offseason that may see a quota spot open up.

I wouldn’t have thought so unless we start to move on one or two others. I suppose Hardaker has gone but Cooper will have eat up a fair chunk of that. Young lads like Nicholson and McDonnell won’t have freed much space up but add that to Bibby’s salary and we could probably cover somebody like Wardle. A move for a guy like Leutele would only be possible if you shed French or if you probably moved on Leuluai and Isa or Miski, to free up cap space and a quota spot.
Wardle in, Tommy doing an extra year, French staying and Bibby and say Partington going would be fine by me. I think we’d have a pretty good looking squad, with decent depth and good quality throughout.
I’m a little over this French drama, if he does stay it’ll be a one year deal and we’ll go through this all again next year.
I wouldn’t mind seeing him go if we got Wardle on a 5 year deal and Leutele on a 2 year.
RICHARDS IS SUPERMAN!!!!

I get what you mean but he’s a truly special player. We’ve not had such exciting players as French and Field since Sam Tomkins (2010-2013) and he puts bums on seats.
I think we need to move heaven and earth to keep him, even if it’s a 1 year deal. We’re much closer to winning a GF with him than without IMO
"Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.
French is an unbelievable finisher. I look at some of the tries he's scored and there are very few players who could have squeezed over. I'm not sure who, if he left, scores them for us?
Not so sure about the one year deal either. If (and it's a big if) French decided that he can't get a deal, or a 'good enough' deal in the NRL, because they have so much young talent coming through, then surely his chances would worsen further in another twelve months when he's a year older?
Huddersfield in for Esan Marsters from Gold Coast to replace Leutele, so with Naiqama, Bibby and possibly Cudjoe as well there, I really cannot see how a) they decide to keep Wardle and b) that they keep Toby King. That looks like good news to me because King is meant to be on a wedge at Wire and will struggle to offload him or fit Wardle in.

I’m sure Warringtons accountant can make the numbers work
