I certainly can't remember him ever being up to the standard of James Graham, Adrian Morley, Jamie Peacock etc I have never taken notice of Darrell Griffin in super league and when Wigan play Huddersfield the prop forward that stands out for me is Eorl Crabtree not Griffin. My only recollections of him playing is being sin binned a few times.
But none of those players are available, so why compare with them?

I've no idea whats gonna happen, i just hope IL pulls something out the bag.
I think at the moment Bailey is worth his Quota spot on the basis of experience and leadership. He is far more vocal than Coley so if it was a choice from them 2 which would be kept in the 2nd row I would actually pick Bailey, Quota or not

Here is how i see things at the moment, no real inside info just putting together credible lines that i have been told from what i consider to be pretty reliable sources, non of who have any working relationship with Wigan.
Could very well be putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5.
As i undertand it we are signing Griffin and an NRL hard man Prop/secondrow. I have heard no mention of a half but that is not to say we are not looking for one, i think and indeed hope if the right man is not out there regards quality in the halves we will stick with TL and Sam Tomkins.
The next bit is speculation, but i would anticipate if we are bringing in who i think we are ie 2 Props, 1 who can play secondrow that 1 of Bailey or Coley will move on, i think this will be depend on our ability to bring in a non federation trained quality half. If we can bailey will go, if we cannot Coley will go.
On the Griffin story, if we do sign him as a support prop to our NRL prop i think it will be a great bit of business. The lad was playing some fantastic rugby at Wakefield and Hudds, his face no longer fits at Hudds which could be to our benefit. He is a big lad aggressive and not too long ago was being talked up like LMS is now, gained an England Cap, but through aq personality clash is out of the picture at Hudds.
I think many will be quite pleased with him if he comes, adds some much needed size and aggression up front.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

If the pack is of the right quality we don't need a new halfback imo. Sam Tomkins and Leuluai look to be striking up a great relationship and i think we're seeing that Sam has abit more to his game then just running. He's doing a good job leading the side round the park and his kicking game is looking solid. Leuluai is on top form at the moment and again looks to have matured in his alround game. His 2 passes to Richards over the past 2 games have been sensational.
If injury struck one of them that could lead to a problem so maybe a back up signing would be the way to go.

So I named the best in the league to show how ludicrous that statement was.
While I wouldn't agree that he's the best in the league, if the story's true that he's coming along with an Aussie hardman, I don't think it would be as poor a signing as many on here suggest.

Rumours of a second-row/prop being talked to - Sam Thaiday perhaps?
Have you heard anything of this? or just wishing we was in talks with him?
That aside I would give anything to have Sam Thaiday over here big unit and takes allot to put down he is just what we are lacking at the mo. Get him signed!

I agree people are making out that Griffin is some sort of 10 stone p!ss wet prop who cant burst his way through a paper bag like our very own Mr Fielden who imo does not even have the size of a prop anymore but thats another story.
Griffin allong with a Aussie hardnut would be pefect Griffin is hardly the smallest around super league is he? and also has a past track record of knowing how to handle himself. He may not be the best in the buisness but a rough and tough player like he is is something we are crying out for and if rumours are correct him allong with a Aussie would see our pack lay the foundations for our halfbacks.
