I think I may have used the incorrect terminology Phuzzy. I actually mean standing terracing as per Wire, Saints, Salford. Personally I prefer to stand whilst watching a game. For me it adds to the atmosphere and I can avoid the perpetual standing up and sit down whilst people go past my seat to go to the bar and/or toilets. I know the likelihood of getting standing terracing is nil but the owd fart in me still pines for that experience for an home game.

Leeds South Stand is split, terracing at the bottom and seats along the top. I do like the idea of terracing but feel the owners have other priorities first. Would they even entertain such a move if they have aspirations on getting Latics back into the top of division's. (Stadia in the PL has to be all seater or small sections safe standing), not sure about Championship.
Surely by changing the structure of the stadium it would imply the owners are happy for them to be swimming around the L1, L2 divisions without being too ambitious.
I do believe it would be great for us and help to add to the atmosphere at big games. Maybe even potentially increase ground capacity? Imagine South & North Stand full terracing on Good Friday, from 25k to 28-30k? Think of the noise.
I think it's probably a nice pipe dream though.

A complaint I've heard lately is that the Brick is "too cold" because of the dreaded 'corner gaps'.
Don't most (not all) grounds have corner gaps?
Yes at Saints standing is only behind the goals
Personally I think the Warrington model is the best and one that I wish Saints had copied
Away end standing and the main side standing which adds to the atmosphere and has me reminiscing for the old Popular side at Knowsley Road where I used to stand.

I keep hearing that it "adds to the atmosphere". Does it? People getting annoyed because they can't see because someone bigger has decided to stand in front of them? The best atmospheres by far this season were Catalans away and Hull KR at home. Neither game had standing.
Just my opinion but I don't see the attraction of standing. I hate away grounds like Saints where you're pretty much forced to stand whether you want to or not if you want to be with your own supporters. Yes, I know there are other options but with so much standing room only, it makes it much more difficult. You also generally get the 'part timers' who are only there on a mickey up making a nuisance of themselves too. I'd much prefer Saints was all seating like an actual 21st century stadium than packing people like cattle into standing pens, having people spilling over onto the stairs and walkways and generally being a throwback to the dark ages.
