We scored some nice tries, looked a threat in attack, and despite a few defensive lapses, with a far from full-strength pack, we were always comfortably in charge. Chan and Forber can be pleased with their efforts, and Dupree looks a great acquisition. Ellis MotM for me. Again. I don't think many will think it wasn't worth a fiver. :P

They suck the life out of the game, fair play to the Hudds fans who watch that every game, hope we only charged their fans a fiver

Stepped up when needed in that game,Ellis great again,Marshy has already been said, looks to having a very good season but still goes under the radar a bit,not many wingers out there (if any) better than the lad.Potential banana skin this one but we did a job all the team did what they had to do ,thought Smith kicked well again, looking like a strong season again.
Fair play to the small band of Hudds fans,Davy must think what can he do to get more Hudds fans to go to the games as it seems a losing battle sometimes,I think if they won the GF they wouldnt get much more to attend.

We should charge them £60 each to make up for that continuously abysmal following. How long are we going to have to suffer Huddersfield in SL? They are the definition of a club propped up by a rich backer.

Taking last week into consideration I thought we were pretty good. Effectively tied the game up in the first quarter and coasted through the rest.

Big shifts from Ellis and O’Neil who I thought was mom.

I was a bit worried about Field at times, thought he looked as though he was struggling a bit and was waiting for him to pull up. Hopefully any niggles will get a rest next week.

I don’t mind them being in SL because I like Ken Davy and applaud him putting the money in year after year even though the crowds are low. I wonder what has happened I know they had their purple patch around the time Danny Brought was there finishing in the top 4, have fans dropped off with them always coming up short? I do hope they could turn it around and bring fans through the door as they have good foundations; decent stadium, decent squad, owner willing to invest

I thought O’Neil played a total cracker.

Massive shift as you say but my favourite moment was after a Hudds play the ball. Jake Connor was squaring up to O’Neil in his usual plastic Hardman style (he really is comical tbh) and instead Of reacting, O’Neil pushed him away and poleaxed the next Hudds attacker with a cracking shot! :D

I love that he showed the discipline to not react to that clown, yet took all his aggression out on the next Hudds player legally. Cracking player.

Also.

Forber…

Early days but his speed of pass from the deck is Dermott or Hall’esque.

We have had loads of great hookers since the 90’s but none as swift at getting the ball fast.

Looks a talent

What's the rumpus, Tom?

It’s great problems to have fitting all these lads in but you worry how we can get Forber a regular enough game to develop. Down the track maybe O’Neill could play games at 13, where I think he’d be equally effective but Ellis has made such an impressive start to his time in the 13 shirt. Losing lads is the price you pay for developing so many but something will have to give at some point. I’ve seen bits of the academy hooker Tom Ratchford as well and he looks a fabulous young player.

Wasn't on for long but yes Forber's distribution looked great.

One thing I thought when watching the game was how on earth we went so many years without a proper centre.

And now we have two of the buggers. Both of whom I would bestow with the Title of ‘classy centres’

Both can draw in defenders and get that pass away and we Have lacked that since Carmont.

It’s dead good being a Wigan fan currently. Just wish the game was the same as it used to be.. but that’s a different matter for other threads.

We were talking about that during the game and reminiscing about the days of Bibby and Isa! Talk about worlds apart.

Keighran looks so comfortable in the side and Wardle is just immense. Ian Watson must have rocks for brains!
