IMO, academy and reserves should be mandatory for all top level clubs, and they treat them with the respect that they deserve, not keep cancelling them because they cant be d. Its one of my gripes at the minute. How can we as a game produce youngsters who are ready to step up to 1st team, when there isnt a pathway for them because some clubs cant be d about it

Absolutely agree with this, the reserve and academy competitions need to be a priority for super league teams, you could get players coming in to match day 17s without playing any game for weeks due to no reserve games, which will drive players away from RL if they're playing maybe one a month while not in the 1st team. I actually really enjoy watching reserve games more than the first team a lot of the time (being a Hull fan I'm sure you can understand why).

I agree with a lot of people on here and feel this is a game we could lose. Those 3 games in a row against Leigh, Saints and Warrington were so intense and we have started to lose a few through suspension and injury. We looked flat against Wakey and had a lot go again for England, just hope the Wakey game was the poor performance and we can kick on again and put a stamp on first place.

Shame not to see Hampshire - on the positive side that's a huge backline which should eat up the metres.

Soft all round so far. That defence down our right side has been dire. Missing Willie Isa massively.

Everything we feared is happening. Think the Shorrocks at 6 experiment is done as well.

Great refereeing performance. Don't know what's more farcical - his fat gut gut, the fake tan or how obviously biased he's been.

Each club should be required to play a minimum number of club trained players in their 17, that would require all clubs producing junior players.

Going exactly how I feared. We look like we lack energy and Hull look full of it. They are playing well to be fair to them.

Feels like we’ve pushed it one week too far or maybe a full game too far at least. He’s done a superb job but we can’t forget it’s an emergency pick and no more. It’s a funny old game but you can probably get away with it more in games against Saints and Wire, than tonight because in those games everyone is totally switched on, covering each other and they’re rarely high scoring. It’s games like tonight where you need that threat and execution a specialist 6 brings. Last point is to say that’s not to bag Shorrocks, he’s done a great job in there for us in the circumstances.

Good to score at the end of the half. Our defence looked to have stepped up that last 10. Still can pull something out here. Haven’t seen Nsemba or Hill yet
