how did Bentley get sent off and Holmes not? His was worse for me as at least Widdop was already going down thus had a small bit of mitigation

You mean like a suspension at work when you've done something wrong?

Yeah because that happens all the time. Show me a workforce that has one or two people missing per week because they are suspended. Then show me customers of said workforce that just happily accept substandard products because of it.

Like I said, there's a real mental block when it comes to this and RL.

Maybe people don't do things wrong every week in their jobs like rugby players.

What punishment would you have handed out to Ben Flower after the Grand Final if you weren't going to suspend him?

Contact with the head is a ban.....Just don't hit people in the head.

was a manager at tesco, I can tell you it happens every day virtually, not all suspensions end in dismissal

Of course they do. It just isn't reviewed by TV cameras after you leave. They also don't extend your suspension because you have the gal to appeal it.

I've already said what I'd do - fine them more.

If you had an employee who'd broken the rules, would you suspend them for month off on full pay? Most businesses, if the case was severe enough would either sack them (financial impact), or suspend them without pay (again financial impact).

has to be, otherwise its a punishment pending an investigation, now a result of that can be a weeks unpaid suspension, this is 1 higher than a final written and 1 lower than dismissal

How do you know they're on full pay? For a start off they pay a fine (which you don't do at work) and how do you know clubs don't punish them for being suspended?

So we've established it happens in every day life, but it's silly in rugby league because we might not get to see someone play their former club or two good players play against one another.

Fact is - if Bentley wasn't such an idiot then we'd be seeing him line up against Jonny B (who was suspended at work BTW a few years ago)
