We are crap too... worse than most, its just the overall top-end is lower. Take an average of all players in SL vs the first division and you will find a better standard imo, but we dont have a good top-tier any more. Also the playing style is much worse now.

I love how everyone has this opinion of Wigan. Do they ever really look into the current situation? The two top teams in the league appear to have won the league unfairly due to these overseas accounts and one of the few teams doing everything above board is Wigan. I mean even when they got done for the cap they hadnt actually exceeded the cap they'd "Gone against the spirit" of it. By offering to pay fielden more in his second year etc. Ah well sod it.

Back then RL was in the comfortable position of having an upper hand on RU finance wise.

These days RU is 10x even 100x wealthier and is slowly sucking the quality and media focus away from our game.

The problems run far deeper than individual clubs ups and downs.

Unfortunately Sky effectively own the game and are the only national media organisation giving the game publicity. If they say RL is improving there's no counter view.
