the 40/20 is a fantasic rule and im at a loss as to why we dont go for it more often. wether its down to poor field position or inadequate kickers im not sure but the following should be able to make the distance:

Richards
Leuluai
O'Loughlin
Smith
Tomkins

maybe more practice is needed?

Why? How many times were you bogged down deep in your own half.

Perhaps your forwards laid a good enough platform to reach the half way line on most occassions, and in which case the potential for a 40/20 is greatly reduced, unless you run the risk by passing back very deep in order to kick.

#frostiesbitches We know who you are.

Surely Pat should be able to kick those from our own 10? But seriously - 40/20 should be so simple for him with a bit of practice, especially if he stays at full back. I mean, look how he took to goal kicking.. it could be his speciality

Wigan's bad positioning made it look so simple on Friday night.

What should have happened was one of the wingers should have been looking to drop back to help Pat out.

When there are two people back in their correct position then a 40/20 is not a simple kick to pull off.

that is true its not very often wigan are behind the 40 yard line on the last or even fourth tackle to be honest, when i used to play we had a game plan, we would play to the 40 and then go for a 40 20 but i didnt really see the point in that

Its not as if getting these 40/20 is childs play.

Most things in modern day RL ate not childs play but they get executed each week. Why not this one?

He has a cracking boot on him, shows when he is kicking for touch. I would have thought Richards coming inside for a 4th tackle 40/20 attempt would be a great idea.
