My views are well posted on here. I haven't seen anythging to change those.
I agree Fielden was solid, but on a couple of occasions he ran a bad line and Locky let him know about it.
Sadly i think the performance today was all we can expect from Fielden now, he no longer has the power to hurt defences and he runs too upright to really make an impact on the defensive line.
I think sadly solid is about as good as we can expect from him these days.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
Iam not saying sean is a bad player but take the captaincy from him and then he can just get on with his own game. He has no leadership qualitys same last year and the year before, next time you go to a match watch him, to the control of the team. When farrell was captain and Edwards they was solid as captain controlled the team and spoke to them if they did anything wrong.

Yes I have read all posts on here. Iam just commenting on what I have felt for a good while, whilst he has been captain. Not just todays defeat, Iam not putting all the blame on sean, but really think he is a better player when the pressure is not on him as a captain.

I can't believe that after the garbage performances of a number of players in that team and poor tactics and management by Noble there is a thread criticising O'Loughlin's captaincy. Is this thread a wind-up?
As far as I could see he had a solid game and was more vocal than usual (which is what everyone wants).
Ellery Hanley in his prime couldn't have led that rabble out there today to success. The vast majority of that team today produced way under par performances and the tactics and team selection by Noble were shocking. (On team selection, I am assuming that Goulding wasn't fit for selection. If he was and Noble picked Phelps ahead of him then his judgment really must be in question. And given that Piggy is way off 60 min fitness let alone 80 min fitness, why no McIlorum?).
I'm getting tired of the anti-Lockers brigade. If we had excellent coaching and a first 17 of world class players then maybe we could look to criticise his captaincy at times - the lad's no Bell, Hanley or Farrell - but he is a good player who always seems to give 100% for his home town team and there are far bigger problems at Wigan we should be concentrating on. Frankly after today I feel sorry for him having to try to lead that shower.
