Andy Lynch has all the qualities we are missing in terms of go forward but it depends what you mean by leadership. If you mean lead our go forward then he would certainly be able to do that. If you mean take some of the leadership responsabilities away from Lockers then I would agree.

I think your right.

I mean true leaders because we haven't replaced Fletcher's leadership nor Barrett's and Bailey is the only real leader left that we have and it looks like he'll be gone by the end of the season too.

Myler or Dobson btw? :D

Pat Richards

George Carmont

With Karl Pryce coming off the bench for impact.

If we could get that all important prop forward and maybe a scrum half and allow Tommy to move to nine and McIlorum to go out on loan, I might be doing a Wire and say 2010 the year of the Warrior!

I know i've mentioned it in posts before but next years recruitment could be one of the most important in the clubs history.

We’ve almost got the right team assembled and just those three signings you and others have mentioned will drastically change our fortunes imo.

We can either go one of two ways next season;

A- IL finds where he’s hidden his cheque book and gets the three top draw signings we are crying out for and we take massive leaps forward as a club. Our young players finally get to play with the kind of the players the youngsters at Leeds and Saints do. We’ll not only have another good centre to share the attacking duties with Carmont but we’ll also have a SH who can get us into a good field position on the last tackle and take a hold of a game and control it in our favour like Burrow did against us at Leeds. Add to that a poop house prop who will not only be a handful for the opposition but one that can lead us in winning the forward battle we always seem to lose. Imagine the confidence the likes of Prescott, O’Carroll and Tomkins will have knowing someone like Mason or Petro have their backs when they are going out there to play!

Or

B-We can continue to try to pull a rabbit out of the hat by signing injury prone/drunk/rejects from SL or the NRL. For every Carmont you get you also get Coley, Phelps, Smith and Mathers who don’t work out. If we continue down the road we have been going down for years now the following imo will happen our crowds will tail off, we’ll never see the best out of our youngsters and we’ll eventually end up in mid table obscurity looking for the one or two big scalps a year!

We need to get It right next year big time.

Good point RE Fletcher.

Michael Dobson given the choice.

I'll agree RE Dobson

I think we have not only missed his leadership but his size and presence in the back row has been sorely missed IMO

Not to mention the way he used to get on the end of so many grubber kicks for tries

Thoughts on the rumour that we are looking to sign him possibly for next season? Personally I am more than happy to keep Pat there.

Top Quality player but would cost a fair bit of your cap money. I'm sure he wants to do a Lockyer too and move into the halves (I think he played a couple of games at 7 for Brisbane)

No chance our back 3 is going to be Pat, Roberts and Ainscough for a good few years to come and I for one am very happy with that :D

A certain full back, whether part of a deal for Gleeson or not, will be out of the club in the next 2 weeks.

Signing Myler sounds good but him and Tomkins at halfbacks in reality would destroy both of their confidence and careers. If we are to throw a young player in the mix they have to be partnered by an old experienced player

Eg -

6-Tomkins
7- Orford/Kimmorley

4- Carmont
5- Ainscough

8- Fielden
10- Palea'aesina
14- Lynch/Bailey
15- O'Carroll/ Prescott

You cant have a team of youngsters because when the times get tough and an experienced head is needed there is none and their confidence will drop and they wont want to play.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

Excellent :D although on the footy show I think it was either Trent or Hindmarsh said he's the best forward in the world, so he'll have to really want to come to the UK if we've got a chance of signing him.

Get rid of Fielden and give him his wage. Sorted
