Where did Ablett play against Manly? If you are basing opionions on that then its not suprising most of you sound positively dumb.
I don't know where you've seen a consistant run of performances from Ablett playing second row to suggest he's better than Hansen, Tomkins and possibly Hock.

Ablett is a solid enough player at the moment, he is certainly no centre but with a seemingly total lack of top class centres in rugby league he seemed to fill a gap. He is also a solid enough second row, reminds me a little of JJB when he first came on the scene solid if not spectacullar prone to the odd error.
Would he get in the Wigan team in the backrow, not a chance, that is no slur on him but we have a very strong backrow, you would have to say the player he could potnetially nudge out of contention would be Hansen, but he needs to add to his game significantly to challenge the workrate that Hansen brings to the party.
He would probably get in most teams backrows but not Wigan's as it stands at the moment. Simply because he is an unfashionable player I do not think he is poor, but equally he is certainly not that good at the moment either.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Well if you go back to 2007. He played consistently then in the secondrow when becoming a key part of the side going on to win a GF.
In 2008, whilst yes he did win another GF and was a key member of the team, he was very often asked to play centre. When Toopi was available or we switched Ellis to Centre he played in his true backrow position.
We have a very strong depth of backrow talent at Leeds, yet this Lad is picked in the team continuously. He is rated highly by two seperate GF winning coaches. That is good enough for me to suggest he is better than Hansen and Tomkins. With regards Hock, go back a few pages to where I mentioned it and understand fully what I said.
