Tonight is a big game, it has an air of anticipation and excitement that i have not had for a Wigan game in some time. The recent capture of Gleeson have pointed towards confidence and hope for the future, and while i do not demand or even expect a win, a good solid performance with effort and heart is a must. Anything less and i will be back to square 1 and the first post of this thread all over again.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

if we do just roll over and die in front of saints at least we can watch bradford do the same and a good hull derby (more competitive atm but not have as special)

Getting your knickers in a twist over the defintions re Hudson and Raleigh shows you are out of your depth. Why not spend a little time checking the facts rather than spouting prejudices.
You may not like my views but to specifically name a couple of young guys - giving their best - and denigrate them is really cheap.
I may find your ignorance on RFL categories of players laughable. I would not dream of naming some youngsters at Wigan or Wakey and insulting them to make a point.
Shame on you jonh.
Not getting into this part of the argument as Yourself and jonh clearly know what your talking about.
However
If you look at how this all started it was a Huddersfield supporter claiming that it was Wigan's fault for not producing enough Home grown players that was responsible for England's/GB's failure at test level over the last few years!
We put him in his place with regards to the FACT that we produce probalby 10 x times more home grown players than Hudds ever have and the argument then moved on!
Go back a few pages and have a look at what started this and I think you will find out that we were spot on in our initial responses and it was the Hudds fans that Moved the goal posts so to speak!

But you are claiming Ralleigh is a "home grown" player when clearly he is not, he joined the club as a 24 year old, i would know as i spent much of my time at university playing with and against him.
The point regards Hudson is you or your friend can claim him to be home grown, but the point is he plays for Castleford.
Given the fact sometime almost 5 years since i stopped playing the sport i had to pull on a Giants shirt last year to play in a reserve fixture it shows just how inadequate the system was at the club......something that i am glad to say is changing.
Clueless on Hudson. Clueless that Raleigh was in our academy.Clueless on RFL rules - the suggestion that the homegrown rules were created to deal with quota issues was monumentally daft
But taking cheap shots at named young players is pitiful.

And do you have a view on naming young players and 'rubbishing' them when they have not featured in the thread?
The poster who claims Hudds are better than Wigan re development is clearly wrong. The poster who claims homegrown rules were created to deal with quota issues is clearly wrong. The poster who names 'kids' and runs them down to make a cheap point is contemptible.

Raleigh was in your Academy for a year, he left went to uni, Ralleigh earned his stripes at Sheffield and Hull KR, claiming Ralleigh as a product of the Giants is like Saints claiming Wilkin and Gardener are products of there system........and i feel no shame.
I have put my hand up and confirmed i was wrong about Hudson even though he is a Cas player and does not count towards Hudds home grown players, why you seem hung up on this issue even though i have put my hand up rather than addressing any other points raised makes me think you are struggling to respond
As for the homegrown rules being created to deal with quota issues ie the number of foreign players in our game which is a pretty big issue if not the biggest, see below, it is exaclty the reason it was introduced.
