He's got a proven track record in big matches too, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure he handed out the medals to the Under 11s at the 1989 Challenge Cup Final...
Yep, he'd be a useful signing to have on the team bus... especially if it broke down*... saving on all those nasty mechanics bills
* I do seem to remember that actually happening (early 70's??) on the way back from Yorkshire. The players were picked up by speccy carrying coaches and dropped off at CP.

I am hearing that there may be two individuals training with us at the moment.
No names or initials unfortunately.
What's the rumpus, Tom?

Do some people seriously think it is Adam Blair? Oh dear.
What sort of dreamland are people living in. The last few truely top players from the NRL have been and gone, we won't see them again for a very long time. Signings like Lyon, Barrett, Hoffman etc. are a thing of the past for super league.
It is a real shame because we would have a GREAT comp if we could mix the likes of Roby, Tomkins and Burrow with players like Smith, Slater and Thurston. It would be a joy to watch. How many would have turned up to Wembley had Benji Marshall and Thurston been on the Warrington and Leeds teams. It would have sold out easily. We just won't see that happen untill the cap goes up or the aussie cap goes down.
It will get worse when Tomkins, Hall, Roby and Briscoe etc. all start heading down under. Get used to it. This is British RL. No ambition.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

While I agree that the RFL is worryingly lacking in ambition, let's be fair ... there's never really been an era when the likes of Marshal and Thurstan were over in SL. Not at the peak of their powers. Lyon and Hoffman were over here because there were specific complications about their situation in Aus. Barrett, while awesome, was approaching the end of his playing career. The vast bulk of the antipodean players over here in the last few years have been also-rans. If they are persuaded to stay at home by the increased value of the Aussie dollar, then we'll benefit.
However, there is no denying that our own seepage of star players to the NRL is a big problem.
