A deal that just covers the stadium's utility bills will be a massive win for both clubs.

Great news, made all the sweeter that the stadium is now owned by someone with a foot in both camps, and although its not a complete role-reversal, it certainly feels that there are now two joint tenants at the stadium.



The coup-de-grace is the likes of Bullitt & Bickymon from CL/Latics Speyk who have spent years using cuckoo, lodgers, etc and vowed to stop going if anyone connected with the rugby bought their club now have a choice whether to eat humble pie and crawl back, or disappear for good. Maybe even "egg" will stop having to pander to the knuckledragging brigade on there.

Does sound like good news and hopefully takes some of the Idiot Latics fans down a peg. Danson will have his work cut out he needs to steady the club. Even then I imagine any Football club outside of the top flight are loosing money (like the rugby) hopefully the stadium can be redeveloped slightly, first order Would be to sort out the pitch. Luckily he’s not come in and said we’re changing the seat colour or buying a big tv board to begin with haha anyone have any idea how this will benefit both clubs? Will it be as close working relationship as shared facilities, maybe staff and training facilities. I’m not 100% sure what Latics have access too but imagine both clubs could learn from each other

I don’t think he’ll say much at all in truth. We’ve not heard anything in terms of the rugby club and with the takeover, he’s put out a brief statement and refused further interviews. He is apparently a very private individual but he looks to have real affection for the town.



I expect a chief exec will be put in charge of Latics, he’ll be front and centre and he’ll be expected to work closely with his rugby counterparts.

Just had a very first quick read on cockney latic (wtf is with that name anyway) and it is hilarious! its actually funnier than redvee and thats saying something

It used to be a "news sheet" back in the day that was setup to update some ex pats living in London before the days of the internet etc.



It then became a proper fanzine, website, forum etc.

Could this takeover see a more settled Wigan Warriors on the field. I imagine IL the past few years has had to constantly look over his shoulder and plan what if’s with Latics seeming to be in trouble for the past few years. I imagine IL has been saving cash for all possibilities but we might be willing to push the boat out once more for a big named marquee signing now we know a seemingly sound owner of Latics is in charge and has investment in the rugby.

And then became an area where only those who hated anything oval shaped were allowed to speak freely without being abused. Even the great Billy Boston was fair game at one point.

Right now, I'd be happy with a reasonable % of the refreshment takings and the return of the flags in the south stand. Oh, and the Boston Stand being known as the Boston stand.

But I do know he announced it at a recent event linked to the ownership of Wigan Rugby, an event that only certain people linked to the club could attend.

Danson owns "More than 25% but less than 50%" of Lenagan Investments Ltd - which essentially owns the club. In 2021 it looked like he had just under 28% of the shares. However there are now around 6000 more shares but I can't find anything on Companies House that details the new breakdown.



One of the new Directors of the rugby club Ben Goodman was yesterday made a Director of the Latics. He's one of Danson's people who has worked for him for a while.

Some shares have been allotted but not yet allocated. This will be updated on the next Confirmation Statement.

The quantity allotted if all allocate£ to Danson will give him 49% of Lenagan Investments ltd which is the majority shareholder of Wigan Rugby.
