Ok. So before the PL season finished are the teams that knocked City out of the FA Cup and Carling Cup a better team than City? ( I can't remember who did) Please answer that one for me.

No, because City won the championship. Until they did it was purely opinion as Liverpool could be said to have had the most trophy aspirations.
In fact this is a great example as I don't know a single Liverpool supporter who thought City were a better side.

My opinion is that nothing has been sorted one way or the other and we're the ones with the trophy in the cabinet beating them on the way to winning it, so the only gap to be closed this season so far is them needing to win something. Everything else is just opinion and hot air.
I say there’s a gap pal and I think there is but it’s not a gap that’s terminal for our chances this season. I think we can beat them in the play offs or a Grand Final, I really do. Any debate over a gap becomes irrelevant if we can nail a performance against them in a Grand Final. We just need to make sure we get 2nd spot and give ourselves that chance.

That's interesting. So if we beat them to win the Grand Final are we the better side in your eyes? What exactly would it take for you to regard us as the better side?

I think I’ll regard us as the better side when we go in to games against them as the favourites. I don’t think we’ve been favourites with the bookies in a game against them since Waney left. The bookies aren’t daft and aren’t biased either way.
We could win a Grand Final against them and still not be regarded as the overall better team IMO. There are just too many variables. Injuries, suspensions, a bounce of a ball or dare we say it, a red card in the first 5 minutes! Saints beat us in the 2014 Grand Final for example but nobody could convince me that they were a better side than us overall.
