We've had a kind draw but you shouldn't really be able to make a semi-final in any competition without breaking a sweat. I feel for the players having to try and motivate themselves to play Castleford again this week (and then go to the Jungle for a third time in a few weeks). Cas are a big club in their own right and SL can't afford clubs like them and Hull to be as poor as they are just now. Hopefully with new investment at both (Hull's looks to be in the pipeline) they can start to turn it around next year - Wakefield replacing London should hopefully bring another competitive team as well.
Just posted on another forum that the decline in Cas is sad to see. They live for Rugby league in that town and deserve better. It was scary going to Cas in 2017 and while that couldn’t last, they shouldn’t be in as bad a shape as they currently are. It does sound like the plan is to get the IMG points needed to secure their Superleague place and to then invest more heavily in the squad.
