Unfair comment IMO. Feka clearly has the heart and passion for the club - just see his reaction to his try at Hull KR. He is always involved in the community, attending events and spending time to go down to a few of the Junior presentation evenings and summer/easter camps.



A poor fitness regime is to blame. Feka didn't arrive how he is now. He was a very fit player and IMO his performances have dropped as his fitness has declined.

someone posted some pics a few month back of feka when at NZ warriors. He was a similar shape to fui fui. looked awesome. if he gts back to something like that we will have a monster of a prop on our hands,

He will have lost the majority of the weight he is likely to lose by now as they should be moving into the strength/power section now, he may lose a little more but i would not expect any more significant losses, perhaps another 5/6 pounds.



They could put him on a further non linear periodised program that is less power/strenght than the others, and maintain a little more aerobic work but i think that 25 pounds is a hell of a lot to lose in an off season and the last thing we need are the strong areas of his game to be affected by his loss.

Lets be fair and say he defo needed to lose at least one and half stone for the new season

I am sorry but when you weigh 21 stone loosing a stone and a half aint good enough,he needs another 2 off at least.

So your saying he needs to be 17 and a half stone are you? At that weight he would no longer have the impact that he should have a good prop should be at least 18 and a half stone.

I don't think anybody is saying he should be 14st. But you only have to look at the film of him against Hull a couple of years back. I know which i would prefer. I would be happy if he was to stay the same weight if it was muscle and he was fit... But he has put weight on, there is no doubt about that. And as he is not getting younger, who is, it can only be for the best. I don't think that losing two stone in weight will make him less effective, especially if he is in better condition.

For him to drop 4 stone in an off season would have major consequences for his performance.



I finally have great faith in our conditioning team, IF he needs to lose anymore he will do it during the season naturally and also in the next off season.



For a pro athlete to lose 2 stone in such a short time is a major achievement, but it must be done in a way to improve not be detremental to performance.





The proof will come from his performances ithis season.

I've no reason to dispute this, but I'm in agreement with Jonh in that I'd rather trust our highly professional conditioning staff than listen to Boyd2, who clearly doesn't know anything about the player at all - in terms of his physiology that is - but who, from past posts, never lets factual deficiencies like that get in the way of giving a lecture.

Feka seemed to me to be topping the scales at about 278-285lbs [About 20st in old money For me he needed to be going in at 252lbs [18st To be at his devastating best. This weight would give him the fitness to be a decent player and not be found out in defence and also the weight and bulk to be the impact prop we all know he can be. Hopefully with the talk of him getting his weight down 20lbs he can get down to optimum weight in time for the new season.

18 Stone would be about the weight i'd be looking at Feka being. I'd guess he was just below that when he first came to Wigan but eveybody puts on abit of natural weight and he could afford a few extra pounds when he first came.



If he's about that weight at the start of next season and they manage to get some extra fitness into him he could be like a new signing. He's always there or thereabouts in the metres made stats and if you can get him fit enough to play just a few extra minutes and defend better we'll be well on our way to having the player we want.

Agreed. its just about balance. If he is better able to defend, and i'm not being critical, that frees up others to create space, instead of feeling they may need to cover.
