I think you could go further than just saying good defence is needed, I think we need great contact in the tackle from the start. Bradford did it well and look at their result. We need to keep Gidley out of the game.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Exactly, once you have the defense sorted confidence rises within the team and when attacking everything can become a lot easier as your not attacking to stay in the game because your defense is pants.

Sort your defense out and the tries will come.

Defence is our real big problem at the moment imo.

We look a side that can score big points now with a realy dangerous backline but unless we start to defend that bit better we won't achieve anything.

I said at the game on Sunday whilst we were 16-6 up that to win that game we'd have to score 30+ points because we wouldn't keep them much under that and thats how it proved.

The motivation to bend their backs just doesn't seem there in the majority of games.

Your spot on.

Saints scored three from three attacks. That was all that lost us that game, credit to everyone on that field for only giving them three attacks, but ultimatly we stood off Gidley, and dropped a bomb.

Improve our defense, and we could win.

COME ON WIGAN

It's not just defence it's these stupid penalties we keep giving away
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
Yeah given away silly penalties is a massive part we need to cut out. We gave away only 1 try in the second half to wakey last sunday and the tries they scored in the first half were mostly from our penalties

Defence can only draw games, perfect defence and no attack gives a team exaclty 0 points. Attack wins games, but your defence has to be better than the other teams attack.

OME ON WIGAN

true call batesy but also true what king warrior says. PENS. been the biggest problem for us for years. no use playing well if your just going to throw it away with stupid pens. and also needlessly givin up possesion on 1ss or 2nd play of the ball. i think if we close em down n get in there plastic faces like bulls did. we'll av half a chance of turning them over. cant wait for it cumon wigan gidus a happy bank holiday for a change
