Apparently Wire fans are treating their win over Bradford like we did ours - i.e. it was all to do with them and nothing to do with the utterly dreadful opposition.

I reffed a union game on Saturday. Final score was 86-32. Now that's value for money folks! Think the pea in my whistle is broken now.
I agree with this thread, there seem to be a fair few one-sided encounters this season with 40 points being a regular. I hope the franchise system doesn't mean we'll get stupid scores towards the end of the season as teams pack up knowing they have no hope of the top 8 and no relegation to worry about.
Some people are saying it is competative because of teams like Hull KR, Cas and Wakey but I cannot imagine that any of this weekends games would of been good to watch, by this I mean good exciting games.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

Getting humped by 43 points by NZ on home turf with the likes of Scott Naylor in the centres, Wellens on the wing (speed demon!), Deacon at stand off, Tony Smith at hooker, Harvey Howard propping and, wait for it, Andy Hay and Darren Fleary on the bench.
That team would get obliterated by the best of 2009. Having said that, I agree that there's been some very poor games this year.
On the other hand, I think that some of the kids getting games in SL over the last few years are WAAAAAAY better than those we were seeing 8/9 years ago.

I'd just forgotten about that game, cheers for bringing it up again!

For this weekend you could blame the easter program, as some teams have played 3 matches in the space of 8 to 9 days. So your always going to get at least one flat performance between the three matches, teams such as Bradford and Cas were beaten by large margins due to having patched up teams. Missing a few players and fatigue is bound to have an effect on performance.
Tony Smith: "I thought the fans really made the difference on Sunday. At times I looked at the South Stand and thought WOW those guys are rocking in there, I like that."
