O'carrol looked good this year till got injured, defo hold onto yeah, his injury was probably one of the last things we needed. He was making good metres
Get a decent experienced 7 to work with tomkins spot on tbh
We need two buy to excellent props and a 7 changing the coach is not the answer for me unless he has lost the changing room agreed, and lots of people will now come out of the woodwork and say he has, and they know for sure etc etc etc, but I won't be convinced unless IL sacks him with that as a reason
Also, wasn't Riddell bought because he was going to liven up the dressing room, and lead the forwards? I haven't seen this yet

We were winning games last year with boring Rugby and the board was full of winging about it so this year we try something new and it is not coming off yet and there is all the sack Noble people on again.
I am sure Noble wants them to win games we are missing Barrett big time as now we have no leaders on the pitch and i would go as far as to say we have no one who is capable of leading the team round the pitch.
Best Wigan No7 ever Terry Newton Wigan legend RIP
Talk of a new 7 to me is crazy. Tomkins is never a 6 hes a little general who will be an excellent 7 in time but at the moment hes not going to get a game their because TL is currently 1 of the better players in the squad.
We never replaced Barrett, a class 6 and having 3 7s will never work esp when Smith isnt worth a w#nk to us. Noble brought Smith in so the buck stops there with that 1.
NEXT, signed Roberts when everyone knows we needed a prop, Noble takes the blame for that one again.
Riddell, i think will be a good signing if we get someone with discipline in to coach, apparently all Piggy wants to do in training is act the mick. An IL signing not Nobles he wanted Randall so you cant blame Nobby for the signing.
Mathers, well its anyones guess why he was kept on, Lydon apparently said hes the worst full back hes seen in professional rugby.
Recruitment has been poor IMO, no balance to the signings, desperate for a forward but invested heavily in backs, Mathers, Smith, Phelps, Pryce, Roberts.

The only signing ive been told BN didnt want was Riddell. We are crying out for a 6 and a big rough number 8 and a big spoon full of hard work. I understand why Noble said he expected Tomkins to get roughly 10 games this year, as cover for 7 if Tommy needed resting or he had to cover 9.

BN wanted Greg Bird - Thus a 6, he wasn't able to get him for various reasons, that still shows he wanted a 6. Why didn't he get one.
Ryles and numerous other props moved in the off season, why didn't we go for one.
These are questions that need to be answered. But they won't be, if there is even the slightest chance that IL will look bad.

Pryce - Noble putting him in the team was a risk, and last night it didn't pay off. Anyone who watched the reserves agianst Huddersfield will know why Noble played him, Pryce looked a cut above and looked to me like he was ready for his first team chance.
For me, Pryce lost us the game last night. 4 balls dropped dead, a pass that was so forward it was closer to being a 40/20 than anything else and defense that was quite honestly laughable. Anyone remember him trundling around 10M behind Ainscough after tommys kick? (not sure when exactly, but it was in the second half) only for Ainscough to get beaten by the Cats winger because he didn't have his centre helping him and then Pryce fell over, tripping Ainscough up after spending 10 minutes getting there?
At the beggining of the second half Tommy produces a lovely kick to win us a scrum on their 10, ball finds its way to pryce, ball hits the floor, momentum gone. Had we scored on this set we would have been right back in the game, but instead we turned the ball over.
Fielden - Same old same old, miles off the form he produced when he wanted to go to the world cup, and a million miles of bratfud form. I thought he might have a good game last night, then he got levelled about 10 minutes in and that was the end of that. Our pack got dominated last night. Walters did his homework and without feka's big runs (Riles dealt with him easily) we had absolutly NOTHING going forwards. Prescott tried hard, but without the decent senior props around Prescott isn't going to lay enough of a platform for us on his own.
We dominated them early on, and it was on the back of Coley's and Fielden (before he got flattened) hard work that won us the 14-4 lead.
Then they got taken off and we lost it. Catalans got on top as soon as we let that ball bounce and go out.
I'm not sure I agree with the Noble out stuff either. I don't think it's the coaching that makes a senior player make that many mistakes in one night, and I think Fielden needs dropping, but I doubt it will happen to be honest, because I don't think we can replace him. Celtic is the ideal time to give Ben Davies a try, or maybe recall Mossop?
Bah, I've rambled a bit here, but the point I was trying to make was I don't think we are far off with this team, maybe with George back in the team we could have won that game.
In one-off games over the last couple of seasons we have proved we can compete, at least for a while.
BUT the team aren't coached well enough or properly conditioned to really shine even in one off matches and the lack of commitment and consistency so far this season are shocking. 3/10 is the winning ratio of a bad team.
This team, this club is a long way from being good. There is a massive problem at Wigan at the moment and a major clear out of coaching, playing and backroom staff is needed.
