Even with your strongest 13 I think it will be a lot tighter than your supporters anticipate (based on recent performances) I am looking forward to a cracking game all the same.
Play a team of kids and im confident Barrow will turn you over. Im not trying to antagonise, im just giving my opinion.
I appreciate what you're saying. But the gulf is just so massive between Championship and Super League. Just look how Celtic and Salford are struggling now - and that's with [arguably] better quality players than they had last year. I'm not saying that there is no respect here for Barrow or saying they are a bad side - but it would take nothing short of Wigan's worst performance in the last 25 years to let Barrow get the win in this match. Your boys may put up a good fight for 40-60 minutes but they will fade away after that...such is the difference in fitness between the two divisions. I hope its a cracker of a game...but I don't see anything other than a comfortable Wigan victory.

Its quite a tough decision for mr Noble. Rest some stars to have them fit for saints who'll be tired after Leeds and look like a hero if you beat both teams. Probably sacked if you loose against barrow. Play best side and beat barrow and concentrate on the cup? A win against saints will pacify wigan fans for along time.

I don't think Noble dare rest too many senior players for the game up here with the pressure he is under. If he plays a weakened team and loses that would be the end for him at Wigan in my opinion. Really looking forward to it, but i still think tonights game against Halifax is more important to our season.

All I said is that it's not worth playing our only two attacking options in Richards and Carmont as they are just 2 invaluable to the team 2 lose with Saints and Catalans coming up.
We could possibly still play a very, very strong team compared to NL1 standards.
Pryce should be moved into the centre rather than Bailey.
Joel should have a go at 13 as it’s gonna be his position in the future.
Farrell/Mossop should get a go shouldn’t they?
3 World Club Challenges 19 League Titles 17 Challenge Cup wins ONE CLUB WIGAN RLFC
14- Mossop
15- Palea'aesina
16- McIllorum
17- Fielden (Even though he will prob get bullied by the 'Barrow' props)
I would rest Hock for the Saints game whilst he carrying a knock.
I would drop Riddell/Bailey because they dont cut the mustard. I would keep Roberts in even though he has been cackaroony but if Gleeson signs it will bring the best out of him and a bit of practise for the Saints game.
Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid. Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal. Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.
I agree give young lads a chance however I wouldn't mix it up to much we need practice at playing as team and trying out move. Try moves that don't need to go through Tommy, as I think he was over used in first half against hudd. I'd like to see goulding more...he's outstanding in reserves needs more opportunity without being giving the task of mopping up smith's poor defence skills.
Can't see Noble bringing in any more youngsters for this one, too risky for him at the moment. It's a no win situation for him...... win, everyone expects this anyway but lose and it would probably cost him his job.
The only changes may be bringing in Pryce, Goulding, Mathers and Smith, so he can rest some regular first teamers...... Richards, Carmont, Bailey, Hock.
Quote from Graham Lowe - "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a tripple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union ......... but I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league!"
