First post so here goes,,,I thought Wigan had a few bad calls, also if you look when Peacock grounded the ball,O*loughlin had his hand under the ball and when you see where Smith was he sent it upstairs to the Video ref,,He was about 3 yards away and bottled it but in the end Leeds were superb especially in the 1st half

They have this down to a fine art do the rhinos,
seen it lots last weekend when they played wire,
2 or 3 men in the tackle and one will rip or reef the ball away very smartly,
thought hock was unlucky on a few occasions this evening,
having the ball ripped away....

true...leeds were good in the 1st half, i'm not going down the road of sack noble because we need consistency within our great club, once this comes and we stop swapping and changing the team we will return to our great days once more. keep tommy and sam at halves for the next few years to come and hopefully bring more young wigan lads through the ranks whan they are ready
I still think we'll go well this year though, tonight was just a bad day at the office
and he does a bit of a boogie

Is it just the refs fault or should the touch judges stand up and be counted.
What part do they actually play apart from stating the obvious ie where a ball as left the field and if its gone thru the sticks for a converstion oh and not forgeting having a little trip onto the field of play when theres a little punch up.

Yes, the ref missed Hock having the ball stripped out, but the same thing happened to Peacock later in the game. Peacock got the benefit of the doubt for his try but the game was over before that. I don't really have any complaints about our disallowed tries - Ainscough looked offside from the kick and lockers just stopped right in front of the Leeds player - if he had kept on running like dummy runners are supposed to then it wouldn't have been an obstruction. The ref wasn't great, but then again, neither were we...

But seriously, wasn't he shocking?
He awarded two dubious tries to Leeds in the first half without going to the video ref, yet he goes to the video ref for our two non-scores in the second. Literally a minute after Hock's try was disallowed for obstruction, he ignores Leeds doing exactly the same thing a minute later.
He missed at least 5 forward passes, three knock ons, Tomkins had his head taken off and that was missed too.
Clearly the above would not have affected the outcome of the match, as we messed up too many times, and Leeds were simply too strong for us, but is a level playing field too much to ask? Really?
Half of us Saints fans said how bad this guy was when we lost to Hull Kr, and many on here said it was just sour grapes because we had lost. Maybe some will agree now? The guy is too slow for Super league standard and shouldn't be allowed to ref.
