One game doesn't make a coach's career.
Credit to the team - great performance.
LOL,so when the team are playing poor its Nobles fault. When they play well its nothing to do with Noble, its down to the players? By your theory as long as you have good support and a solid halfback pairing you dont need a coach? Pull the other one!
One game doesnt make a coaches career no so its a good job Noble has already proven himself at the Bulls. Now all he has to do is get the team to perform consistantly which i have no doubts he will do.

Or the team followed the gameplan and respected the ball?!

Utter tosh and you know it. Its only anti Noble if your view that he is boring is followed.

Did I say that? No. I'm saying that tonight we had a decent halfback pairing and excellent support of the runner. Quit with reading what's not there, it makes you look silly.
Yes we need a coach, I just don't think Noble's the one. If he gets the team to play like this for the remainder of the season and breeds some consistency into the side then I will owe him an apology. Until then I question if he's the man for us.

Behave yourself
Well everyone is entitled to there opinion i for one am made up by the performance tonight, and as i said it bodes well for the future, it will take more than one performance in 4 for me to be pleased but the signs are there.
If that was not an anti Noble style performance what has 90 % of the last 3 years performances been?
I was obviously being tongue in cheek with the last point but can you say that most of the critics of him have not been calling for a more expansive style, which we got tonight, an end to the stupid move forward 3 steps and hold in defence, which we generally saw tonight and the likes of Tomkins and Ainscough to be given a chance.

Are you sure about that? Thought you would have wanted us to lose again

Well it helps having a hooker that knows what he is doing in relation to controlling the attack and a pack that can actually recieve passes they can run on to.

TBH in defence, we were still moving up and holding, but the clamping of the ball was much better.
As for Tomkins, picked on merit, another thing people can no longer bag Nobby for.

Dont get upset Jonh. Anybody can be wrong. I simply had no choice but to point out that all your years of rambling about how Noble cannot coach anything other than 5 drives and a kick has well and truely been blown out of the water tonight.

Full credit on the praise good man!
jonh wrote: Tonight was a very anti Noble style peformance and hopefully it is a sign he is evolving as a coach
I very much doubt he has evolved from 5 drives and a kick to that sort of a performance in a few weeks. I think its more a case that he has finally got the new players to gel and 2 halfbacks that actually work well together along with the correct team selection.

Of course, the tactics that you have told us for years he cannot coach.
Oh one last thing. Bailey back to centre was a smart move short term wasnt it?
There shouldn't just be black and white, there are shades of grey in between. Wigan have produced some dross in recent times and Noble has been deservedly criticised. Tonight he clearly deserves his praise and I would have to agree that its a style of play we've rarely seen from a Noble team. Very refreshing, possibly one of the most complete performances seen from Noble's Wigan bar 10 minutes or so in the second half. If we can maintain it, all fans will be firmly back in the Brian Noble fan club.
