Obviously winning 1 or both of the big 2 is the goal but I would hate to go back to the days of seeing us play poor/dull rugby, qualify for the play offs and win SL. Personally with the squad we have I want us to win the LLS playing a quality brand of entertaining rugby.
Who cares what people will remember in 5 years time? I just want a consistent good season and that is one of the things I believe Lam has set out his stall to achieve.
We in the main achieved that in 2020 and I expect to see improvement next year.
I want to enjoy the full season, not just the last 6 weeks.
Being a traditionalist I actually prefer first past the post as a system, but they aren't the rules and as Saints showed in 2018, it means very little sticking 60 points on sides in the regular season if you can't win the big one.
As someone who hates losing of course I want to win all 3, but I don't see the LLS as an achievement if you then don't win the big one because as I've said before....you can no longer say the best side finishes top because although they will deny it, sides structure their season to come good when it matters.
As for enjoying the season, I haven't sat here since the season ended happy that we won 6 in a row or that we won the shield. I've sat here vexed off that we lost the final.
