Your questions are nonsense. You're asking if I would choose French/Farrimiond over Smith/Farrimiond. Of course I'd choose the former as Farrimiond is a more natural 7 so that has a far better balance than playing 2 scrum halves.You're asking if I would choose Smith over French. If you want something relevant to the statement I made, ask yourself these three questions:
1) Would you prefer Smith or French at 7?
2) Would you prefer Smith in charge of our kicking game or French?
3) Who's game is most suited to "getting us around the park? Smith or French?
If your answer to all 3 is Smith (and I'm assuming it is) then how come you would prefer Smith controlling our game than the best player in the league? Is it because he's the one who is more important to the
way we play?
Nowhere have I said Smith is the better player. He isn't. The two are not the same thing.
