Though it's a rumour I've heard from several other sources.
But I'm bewildered as to where and how he thinks he's going to get a top-level gig in the NRL. Kristian Woolf, who's had phenomenal success at Saints, is only at the Dolphins as an assistant. I can't help but think that Shaun Wane, one of the most successful English-born coaches of the last few years, would struggle to find a higher place than that.
Can Jones, who admittedly seems like an okay guy and is very pro-RL, but who has no real experienced of coaching in TGG, do any better ... and what would it do to his reputation if he didn't?
That said, if he is about to get sacked by England RU, I admire his ambition looking to take such a gamble. Plus, it would surely shake RU to its roots, which I'd enjoy very much.
That's the rumour, as proclaimed in the article below.

With the right team around him it could work. I think being head coach is perhaps more to do with man management and motivation. The NRL budget is way ahead of SL so he could run with an attack coach and defence coach, both with good reputations. Could be interesting.

I'd certainly like to see it happen, if only to wee on Union's bonfire.
Doesn't look to be much in the article bar his own desire to go there. Last I read he was approached by USA union for a massive contract covering the next two World Cups from 2024. I think he's burned too many bridges in the RFU and he might not last until the WC.
