Tough opener away at St Helen's brought a 60-0 defeat but that is an improvement on last years similar fixture.

The home CC campaign starts this Sunday (24th March) against Warrington who we also played in the competition last last year.

Another very tough game but I imagine progress from last season will again be the aim.

KO is 3.30pm at Rosslyn Park.

The Women's Southern Championship will not get underway until 25th May.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

First win of the season for the women with a 48-0 victory over Bradford Bulls in the last of the CC group games.

I believe both teams were stretching the limits of their resources to field the 17 due to injuries. Despite that a very good performance from the Broncos with several players impressing with their ability to make yards and beat the defensive line. Some solid defence and relatively few errors. Our kicker was unlucky hitting the post from wide on a couple of occaisions.

Unfortunately, the game got a bit feisty particularly with a rumble following what looked like a slap in the face for one of the Broncos players after some push and shove at the play the ball. The ref took his time and binned both of them. The game was stopped early shortly after these players returned to the fray. I think perhaps due to the volume of injuries Bradford were suffering and the risk of further flash points.

Certainly bodes well for the depth of the squad for the league games which are due to start with the visit of Bedford Tigers on 25-May.

Thanks for posting that Buzz. Good to hear there is some life at the Broncos.

Winning start in the Women's Championship South beating The Army 6-36 at Camberley Rugby Club. Broncos got off to a good start scoring 4 tries before Army got their first score on the board. 6-18 at the break which is how the score remained for much off the second half before Broncos ran in 3 more tries.

I understand last week's scheduled home fixture against Bedford may be rearranged.

Broncos Women remain unbeaten in the league with a hard fought 18-14 win over Cardiff. Two pretty closely matched sides with Cardiff improving as the game went on. Broncos held out for an important win considering these are the best two teams in the league.

A decent crowd at Rosslyn Park but would be good to see a few more as they always put in a good performance.
