Surely the Ladies deserve an award? Eccles?
Who has been out stand out player and who has been the best improved?
These might seem like trivial matters but they have a huge impact on morale........and not at the cherry red gold lounge either.....book a VENUE and do something right in 2022.
I know what you mean Orange but I think they may need to run before they can walk. Keep it low key maybe next year will be better.
Player of the year is Parata - very consistent, always one of the better players on the pitch.
Most improved - there are lots to choose from but to an extent, and without trying to be snide, mainly because so many were anonymous in the 1st months of the season. Situ, Ulberg, Macani and Grant all played a significant part in our improving performances but IMHO did little in the early days- maybe that was Coleman’ s fault I just don’t know. I would tend to suggest most improved is Leyland. Like others (I think) I couldn’t see why the club thought so highly of him and Horsmann they proposed to build the team around him.to me he seemed very much a work in progress. The game time has definitely benefitted him and he is a much more influential and consistent player now. His kicking is still a bit scratchy but from the tee he has been much better than what went before. I’d also give an honourable mention to Williams who has been the forgotten man of the squad over the last couple of years but I think has been a solid team player and added a bit of go forward.
Having said all that if we get tanked by Leigh and then Barrow I suspect everyone will just want done with this season and rest for next year.
