Make or break time for the side now. We lose this then we are adrift with very few chances of making up the points to catch them. Even if we win, we are still going to need a whole lot of luck.
London by 2 scores

Yup this is it. Lose this and we’d have to get appreciably better to stay up. Not sure how it will go. They weren’t great but Chisholm pulled the strings. Our performance against Workington in a crunch game was really disappointing and playing well (but picking up no points) against York doesn’t really disguise the fact we are in a lot of trouble. Let’s see if they come out the blocks firing like against York.

On the Dewsbury forum they realise what a big game this is and with Paul Sykes at the helm, they are hoping for an improvement in performance and thus a win.
We need to improve our defence.

We'll only beat Dewsbury if we score more points than them - so this could be a rare Broncos 2022 victory!! If we lose Hughes needs to go (or sell up).

Granted. Watched the highlights and there were some shocking leaks. As you played York, your correspondent was chained to his desk at work and therefore had other things to occupy him (don't think that that was work, oh no, rather The Centurions' twitter feed with flashscore beside it in a different window on the wonderfully large screen that his employer provided when one of the Board noticed how many spreadsheets he used to juggle on the same tiny screen). Was initially hopeful for you guys - and then repeatedly so in periods throughout the game. VERY pleased with the Leigh result in a banana skin game but, as to your result (to quote, errm, Rfe(?)) "Gutted".

Am still surprised that, in the light of the near miss, there isn't more positivity around. If the whippersnappers did okay, play them against the lesser forces of Jowsbury.

Not a fan of expansionism on the whole (on the whole it has failed) but RL in England needs a club in the home counties. That club, however, needs to survive by its own merits rather than a marketing-schmarketing leg-up by an outside force such as IMG or whoever. :thumb:

Indeed......the whispers of a new launch for the Superleague in 2024, be that 2x10 or 1x14 or 3x8 are making me think that the Americans will find it difficult to grasp a national sport with no real foothold south of Sheffield and that they'll insist on a London side at the expense of a west Yorkshire one. Whilst it was accepted (barely) before, I doubt the good folk up north will embrace a second leg up for London, especially after the horrendous mis management at the broncos in the last 15 years.
I'm with Victor here. Hughes out! I'd rather have no club than the husk he has created propped up by an imaginary need for a London side......I thought Toronto were a sham, but at least they did it the hard way and that's what any London side with SL aspirations should do to.

If a London side is to be included in the new structure I suggest IMG should be insisting on a different more clued up ownership.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

For all his very many and oft discussed faults, Hughes has not been beating away co-investors with a stick.
Sports team ownership is an expensive hobby and before IMG get to suggest any changes or insist on a different ownership, I'd say laying out their plans and the rewards on offer would be key to anyone new investing in European Superleague.
Whilst not perfect, if you compare the fortunes of Northern Hemisphere Union with those of League over the years 1996-2022, I'd say one has embraced professionalism in an often clumsy but profitable manner whilst the other has regressed to almost amateur-like decision making.....I cite the Stobart sponsorship deal as a prime example.....it's no wonder SKY TV pay what they want and not what it's worth when the management make such awful decisions.

IMG need to lay out exactly what rewards will be in place before any of the current UK owners/chairmen throw one of their own under a bus to have a team in the capital.

I think IMG through their Australian outfit should approach the NRL and ask if they would be willing to invest.Brisbane done it many years ago so why not now.Imagine a team with two or three players up and coming players from each NRL side playing in the top tier.

People up north would not like it, but it would get the press coverage you need, get good quality up and coming players who I am sure would like a couple of years in London and would get a team that can compete. With a team that has success you get good crowds no matter where they players come from.

Looks like we will be leading 14-6 at half time, but can we stand tall in the second half?
