...12,200 on Facebook, 6,500 on Instagram and yet only 300 at the game.
Questions need to be asked by the RFL exactly what David Hughes plans (sic) for the club are, because with the best will in the world, if we fold, then I doubt the Skolars will offer the same pathway for youngsters and the game may pull up the drawbridge south of Sheffield. I attended a Kids collective matchday here at the weekend as a sponsor of 2 clubs.....there were about 1,000 people there to watch age group teams from the wellington region with a "hangi" afterwards and prizegiving....and RL is on it's 'arris here, but to get 3 times the crowd to kids games than that of the only Pro RL side in the capital is criminal.
OR.....I could be totally wrong and with potentially a new structure in place for 2022 and with possibly 5 teams being relegated from SL and 1 going up, 2022 is the most important year in the clubs history. If nobody gets relegated this year and Toulouse AND Featherstone go up, then we have a huge chance to get promoted to the new 10 team SL1 in 2023. Maybe this has been the master plan all along and why we've not spent a bean on players. Maybe we have a 25 man SL standard squad waiting in the wings to take the 2022 division unbeaten.
I swear...I've not been drinking, but this is the only reason I can find to explain the nonchalant attitude of the club towards the season, the venue(s) and the fans.....
