I suppose in a way this goes some way to right the wrong of 1999 where Hull took over Gateshead Thunder to maintain their SuperLeague status & Huddersfield who finished bottom did the same to Sheffield.
Its a good decision IMO, as a club they seem ambitious and seem to have a pretty stable financial base. They have a good stadium and building a decent squad. Importantly its more accessable than the cumbrian clubs. Fact they are playing a few of the WC games up that area shows the ambition to grow in the area, not sure what the community game is like though

There is no doubt Thunder are being run very professional. their link with The Falcons seems to really work!
I will be disappointed if The Bulls get the 12th place, all the chaos they have had in recent years, and debt left in Bradford itself, what a white elephant Odsal now is, The RFL should have got rid years ago, first it needs to be flattened and filled in, then sold to a property developer, but to lie as it is now for the past year is sad. It will be a backward step for me if any M62 club gets the place, that is a such a bad identity for the game that it is only M62, before Canada and The USA we need to ensure the spread of the game here, Newcastle is the start.

They got the additional games because of the failure of Workington's new ground, that said York still don’t have a licensed stadium.
The proof with thundet will be in the pudding, can they produve the goods and not wnd up at the bottom of the heap in 21, york did show that with a decent set up you can make the step. Not sure who ever gets the SL spot on monday will have as much chance with staying up with the reduced funding, but then again you never know
