Dear all
London Broncos fan Luke Courtney will be running the 2018 London Marathon on April 22nd and is hoping to raise funds for the Queen Square Brain Bank for Neurological Disorders (QSBB).
QSBB is a neurological disease research facility within University College London ( UCL) and carries out research into neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease and dementia - it is probably best described by this quote
“QSBB is an invaluable resource for clinicians and scientists worldwide. For 30 years we have built a unique collection of tissue focussing on neurodegenerative diseases. Our own research programme, and that of groups to whom we have supplied tissue for research, has resulted in a greater understanding of the underlying processes that lead to the death of specific brain cells, improvements in diagnostic precision, and opened new avenues for more effective treatments.”
QSBB depends entirely on charitable funding for its survival. Every donation, no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated by the team at the QSBB.
I have attached a link to Luke's JustGiving page , and one to QSBB if anyone is interested in finding out a bit more about the research work that is being carried out. Any donation large or small will be gratefully received and I know that Broncos fans were very generous when Luke ran the marathon for the PSP Association in 2016,
Many thanks, Rob ( Luke's Dad)

Just to let you know that while the Broncos were getting spanked yesterday,Luke completed the marathon in a time of04.47.47. By about 20 miles he was looking on course to finish in about 4 hours 10 but he said after 22 miles the heat and tiredness just got too much, so he slowed right down. Turned out to be the hottest day for the run since 1996.
Thanks for your support, All the best, Rob
