With our away game at Sheffield being on 4th March, I find it a bit disconcerting that they have only just applied for planning permission on the temporary stand at Olympic Legacy Park. I know that they are confident that everything will be in place for the game, which marks their return to the Steel City. However with less than two weeks to go until we play them they seem to be cutting it a bit fine. I understand that Sheffield have been under pressure for some. Since they were forced out of Don Valley in fact. With their fans not being prepared to the travel thirty miles or so to Doncaster or Wakefield for home games, returning to Sheffield has to be a priority for them. They are probably at the Last Chance Saloon and I wish them well with it. However if things are not going to come together in time, then another venue should be found whilst there still is time. What we do not want is to be messed around and the game being postponed. We could do without having to catch up the fixture by play the game on a Wednesday night.
Oh to only have to travel 30 miles for a game. To Londoners that feels like next door. I have every sympathy for the fans to be in such disarray god knows we know the feeling well. However I cannot help but feel quietly content that big gob Schofield has problems you -reap what you sew.
I'm planning to be in Sheffield for the game. If anyone hears anymore about the venue it would be good to have it posted on here. I have to say I'd like a 30 mile trip to a game - coming in from the edge of Southend, especially with weekend engineering work on the railway, is a bit of a trek.
Just been looking at the Eagles website. Firstly they are still stating on the Visit the Eagles section of their website, that the home games will all be played at Belle Vue Wakefield. Think that that needs updating. More worrying is that the site states that all tickets for our game on Sunday are sold out. This I cannot believe, so I wonder if there is a more sinister reason? Toronto's game apparently is also sold Out. It may only be that they post tickets out and it is simply a time issue. I think I need to contact them tomorrow and find out.

This should be a walk in the park, but these are the games when you can come unstuck. Don't see Wardy getting carried away at this stage. Broncos by 20.
We were awful away to Sheffield last season. I cannot see that being repeated. They do not appear to have the strongest of squads. Perhaps a few of our old players might up their game. I do expect us to win.
I'd put Meadows on bench here, and if we are winning comfortably take Sammut off, and see how Api and Meadows Gel. I think we need to see how we perform without Sammut if he should get an injury, so being able to take him off last 20 mins if we are winning comfortably and see how squad copes would be something to be considered
