The article states that the trusties will be made up of local businessmen and one supporter so my reading is the local businessmen will be funding the club.
It's interesting, is he retaining ownership of the club with trustees running it? There is not actually that much detail, any change of ownership I would imagine needs scrutiny by the rfl. One fan is likely to have little say, as you say it will be interesting to see how it pans out. It's very different from a fan based ownership.

If he's not funding it, then there's about a 2 million quid sized hole in their operating revenues for next year. Experience tells us that a badly supported club in a rented stadium costs its owners between 1.8 and 2.1 million a year and as much as he has been a breath of fresh air, I really can't see how he's reduced their debts by 80% in 3 years. They have a joint academy next year with Leigh and no reserve grade, but they are still tenants and running at an average attendance that would make Gus blush!
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
If I read it right from mr kougash the operating losses are 20% of what they were when he took over so still running at a loss not sure what those figures are. As for gus! Let it go the man has gone
