In the 8:30am sports news, George Riley (sp?) gave a good plug for Quins RL's opening game. He tried, but failed, to get the show presenters to join him at the game, one of whom was Quins RU fan Rachel Burden.

Lets hope they keep it up and people take notice.

I havent listened to it since Campbell's disgusting interview with Tony Smith on the eve of England's first World Cup game. Radio 5's rammed with middle class, rugby union and cricket loving types with no respect for RL. In fact all of the BBC is. The few in the BBC that do respect our great game have no chance of being heard.

So you won't be phoning in to BBC Radio London during their hour long rugby league programme every Wednesday then (starting this Wednesday I beleive)

Didn't gat an answer when I asked Radford how much he paid Stokes to save his job.

Thanks but I'd rather listen to someone scraping their fingernails down a blackboard.

Let's be honest here. I was as keen as all of you to try to up the attendances at the games but if these are genuine responses then i really couldn't give a sh*t anymore.

Perhaps this is the problem. It would appear that the more active amongst you honestly believe that you are above listening to a staion that is in the main listened to by people who use their hands for a living whether driving, building or scratching theirs $rses.

Whereas this Club used to represent everything that I love about sport, comments like those only serve to confirm that it is becoming as pompous as its host.

Does it matter that you don't like the content of the station ? The aim of getting them to talk about Rugby League in London isn't to satisfy your intellectual cravings but to draw in genuine sports fans. You don't need to listen to the stuff, more hope that of the 2,5 million that do, if only 1 in every 1000 came to a game it would double the gate (roughly).

In short, stop worrying about local leaflet drops, bus advertising, market stratagies, free season tickets, after match entertainment, dancing girls, attracting the aussies, attracting the union lot and whether you may or may not be impressed by the inane warblings of Ian Wright and Co. and start thinking about how the rugby league will sell itself to sports fans if only they would come down and watch it live.

And by the way, if you seriously think Talk Sport do talk $hite then you probably:

a) are a big fan of Rugby Union
b) don't speak Englsh
c) work for Radio 5
d) have never listened to it
e) take yourself very, very seriously
f) are over 85 years old
g) think Coldplay are a great band
h) are aggrieved that football is so popular
i) think Mr Bean is a documentary

I'm bored. I havent renewed the 6 season tickets that we have bought for the last 4 years and will spend my Summer watching local rugby league where I dont have to stand in the same location as the kind of people who thought that Rugby Union involved a hamper in the car park swiftly followed by watching 30 men clap each other as half of them walk off the pitch through a human tunnel.

Goodnight.

Nope, haven't watched a game in around 12 years

novice wrote:b) don't speak Englsh

I wish, mind I also wanted to work on Thunderbird 5

On occasion I have, for me though there is less about the sport[s] being covered and more about the presenters opinions of those sports, jack poop to do with class though, just personal choice

novice wrote:

I've got a fat balding yellow cartoon character as a role model, hell yeah I take myself seriously

novice wrote:

Close, though I think I own a doughnut someplace that may be

novice wrote:

I wouldn't touch Paltrow with yours so no way do I like 'em, Deep Purple now........

novice wrote:

Nope, supported Chelsea since 69, but do despair that above the championship level it's Monopoly not football

novice wrote:

pfft, any fule know it's a social statement on our current turbulent times

Goodnight

Sarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them.
