I see cornwall just passed 10,000 fans for their first 9 home games......I wonder if we have had that many at our 9? I see wiki reports nicely rounded 750 & 850 at the 2 games at Ebbsfleet, and 940 for the Thunder game in May but nothing for games 4 & 5 (Bradford/dewsbury) at the lane. Based on the 7 attendances we do have reported, we are averaging 1,173, but those missing 2 were both badly attended (according to reports on here and the other sites), so it's fair to assume that they were both sub 1k......so we are nearer an average figure similar to our last full championship season of about 950, but with the added bonus of forking out extra rents.....still no statement from Loubser or Hughes on the success of this move. Surely with us now effectively 7 points ahead of Dewsbury with 7 to play, it's time for some announcements on 2023....coach, venue(s) players etc....
For what it’s worth my take is we feel back to the attendance levels we were at for those few games in 2020. That seemed a realistic aim and an OK start on the back of pretty minimal effort and a losing side. I always thought the 5k figure was eye wash. (Of course the mind boggling expense of running multiple grounds rents negates much of the positives). The question is will we push on. I think we’ve learnt a tiny bit about match day experience from the start of the season but not much. Look how we have come on with our social media comms generally since season began (it was rubbish frankly) and then think about how much the match day experience has improved. Our match day experience remains poor - plonk fans in a big old barn, mostly closed and let them get on with it. Its an area they need to focus on if they want to grow. And then there is their marketing. How will they sell next year to newbies? How will they sell it to ST holders who have been served up dross for the first half of the season, then put to the additional expense (in some/ many cases) of travelling to Kent all the while seeing discount after discount to nonST. Then there is player recruitment and retention- we made a poor stab at that for the 2022 season we can’t do the same for 2023. We know we’ll be in Championship so we should be busy, busy. It goes without saying I don’t expect to hear what they are up to but I do expect them to be up to something.
After such a dismal start to the season its refreshing to see the brand of rugby that will have supporters returning for more. The team have responded and the gloom has lifted. ALL of the players look to be improving week on week but Macani and Siti and Albert have really upped their game under Eccles.

We have shed fans.....as many as 1,500 or 70% from that opening game......but they won't declare the dewsbury gate (nor Bradford for that matter) so 60% at least.
It remains to be seen if these fans come back for games this year given there's little left to play for.
Will be interesting to see of the 6 for £30 offer worked.

I was at Dewsbury, I would say 500 at most at that game. No match day experience at all (at least they won that game )
I'm planning to try and take my Dad to Batley game, but if they are not able to cater to veggies, then it will be probably the last one we attend. Wonder if @mashtun or @smithers99 was at the Fax game, both have been silent last couple of months?
All the new players made a huge difference, a shame they didn't play earlier in the season. In these days of recycling I was impressed with most of the new players wearing the same shirts as the departed players.
My Man of the Match was the new half back (Number 5). He even popped up on the Left Wing a couple of times to score. On one occasion in the first half he was out on the left and decided he fancied a go on the right wing. He carried the ball with him as the Halifax defenders failed to get a hand on him until he'd nearly reached his new chosen position. He was enjoying himself and very influential regardless of the tries.
When do the Play-Offs start, need to make sure I'm free to watch this new team in the post season?

We can't make the playoffs, its not mathimatically possible However looking at remaining fixtures [*] Sheffield (BASH) :- Win [*] Newcastle (A) :- Win [*] Workington (H) :-Win [*] Batley (H) :- Close loss (We will be going to that game) [*] Haven (A) :- Win [*] Leigh (H) :- Loss [*] Barrow (H) :- Win (Also going to this game)
This puts us on 21 points, which could have us mid table over Thunder and Sheffield. Which would be an amazing result seeing where we was in May, and mush have Eccles as a nailed on appointment as coach (assuming he wants it)
