My maths is rubbish but I think we’ve announced 16 players. Of those 2 are senior pros who’ve been retained and 2 from SL/Championship. The rest were signed to aL1 club when they last played in UK (7) I think or young players who’ve stepped up but who in many cases have played as much in L1 last season as Championship. And to add to concerns many have plied their trade at the bottom end of L1. I’d definitely not focus on that if I was in charge of ST sales. I’m going out on a limb here I think with a fair wind we may get past Sheffield, Dewsbury and 1, possibly 2, of the Cumbrian clubs. I know, I know overly positive but stranger things have happened.
Thoroughly underwhelmed by these signings. I'm not sure of the logic behind basically becoming the London Skolars in everything except name? In the last 3 playing seasons they have won 13 games from 56 starts.....this year they beat west Wales twice and Coventry....losing 14 and drawing 1. To the untrained eye, it really does look like we are preparing for a relegation dog fight with no intention of challenging for honours in 2022 and how 6ou polish that turd for the new audience at Plough Lane is a mystery. I can only assume 5hat Hughes is heading for the exit and we are cutting our cloth accordingly....but again, why spend.money on a SL standard ground if you've no intention of getting to superleague? We got lucky with Henderson and then Ward......remember Powell and Grima if you think Hughes as adept at finding good managers, but I'm at a loss as to what is going through his head at the moment when he's looking to write cheques for a season where survival will be a relief. Still no word on plough lane though ...3 weeks after we were told it would take no more than 2
Maybe they are waiting for Mustard to complete his squad, but the lack of drum beating by Hughes, Lobster or Monkey is deafening with only a couple of weeks before training starts. They must have some idea of how they see 2022 paning out even if they are incapable of putting a coherent plan in place.
Of course PL for RL could be "THE" covid sport. If you believe in social distancing then get down to PL where each fan can have their own block of seats or maybe even their own stand.
I'm still 50/50 if they will play at PL next year. I don't think DH heart is in it anymore, and he is going to be paying the whole 200K out of his back pocket, as LB will make no revenue on match days.
They will probably open only 1 stand at PL at most, of which the majority of fans will be from the away side, who have come for a great day out, visit London, take in the rugby during the day, see your team win by 60, then get tube into London for a few beers before train home.
Saying that price of a pint in London is more than some folks weekly wage, so its possible that the London visit would be teetotal

Hughes (as well as the hired help) don't give a toss about the fans. It's been obvious for close to a decade now that it's "HIS" Team and "HIS" to do as he wants, bt in reality, whilst he's happily flushed his own millions down the drain, he's also flush a comparable amount of central funding.
30 million of "OUR" money to go with his own, all down the shi77er......I wonder if anyone showed him the video of him bigging up Trailfinders would find themselves on Monkeyboys hitlist....because only a few years ago, it was PERFECT

I'm with you on this. The silence since the green light was given points to somebody finally doing some simple mathematics and figuring out that Rosslyn Park may well suffice as "home" for 2022....it holds 2,000, a number we have never hit in the 2nd tier and not often in the last SL season, so we'd be fine for the travelling Cumbrian hordes.
I played there (30 years ago) and it was always a cracking club to visit and given they're in the 3rd tier of Union, they're getting 500+ to games and I'd hazard a guess we'd get more of them to games than we will dons fans.
