I don't think that's true as Fev were talking about staying part-time, or at least hybrid part time/full time, shortly before the promotion decider against Toronto in 2019.

That said, I think it's easier for Fev to run a part-time team than it would be for London. Fev can attract the better part-time players with good jobs from around the Northern clubs - a good example is a few years ago when Sheffield went full time and Fev were able to sign players like Anthony Thackeray, who is a director and financial advisor, John Davies, Scott Turner and one or two others who had good jobs that they didn't want to leave.

I think it would be much tougher for London to attract Northern players down south as part timers, and probably more difficult than it already is to keep quality players.

Am I expected to go to West London or East London next season. In truth, no, ive got no real desire to see a part time Broncos side floating around the championship. Ive said previously my enthusiasm for Broncos and RL in general in waining and pretty low. Some on here will agree, its not easy being a Broncos fan, but yeah what the club has to say about its future could be make or break for me.
I hope it works out with the SC, why wouldnt I, but im not going to just blindly join until the club can provide answers to the direction it is going in

Can I ask you a question regarding signing players? Can you explain the business sense in signing players to add to the 14 we already have on contracts when we have absolutely no idea when the next season will start, if at all? No idea, not even a clue. And then to compound that even our best guess at when it will start does not guarantee crowds. Before anyone mentions central funding then lets just remember we also have coaching staff, medical staff, office staff, Academy Players and Staff, rent, other regular bills etc. Central funding does not even begin to cover the half of it and the furlough scheme ends soon. So what do we do? Ask David to bank roll a load of new signings? Seems to be the usual response to everything, just ask David to pay, he is good for it.

Anyone signing players at the moment is simply adding to their expenses without any guarantee of income for the next 6 months.

Does this seem like a good way to run a business in order to secure its long term future to you?

If a shop cannot guarantee any customers being allowed in for 6 months minimum and it has half of the shelves empty would you suggest the smart business decision is to spend money you have not got on more stock to sit there doing nothing at great cost to yourself or would you simply wait until you have a definite opening time and then go to the wholesaler and fill your shop?

I do find that the people using this forum have a much better standard of conversation, Broncos fans should take a look, I much prefer reading these guys - https://www.totalrl.com/forums/index.ph ... n-shelved/

And in the same way would you expect someone to sign up and pay for something without knowing the direction the club intends to go in?? So the club can give no answers (which is fine, if it does not know it does not know) but I will still pay out anyway?. When the club can start to give answers about where it is going, what its future plans are, then maybe I will join. Is that not reasonable??

Absolutely not, which is why we didn't ask people to leave their money in the club against a season ticket for next season, something I was lambasted for and, by one person, called thick. Imagine what I would be getting called now had we offered season tickets and then people find out the season is not starting? We are trying to do the right thing by people.

The SC is a supporters group that has already grown to numbers bigger than I expected in 3 weeks and will, I am sure, update members of the items discussed in the initial meeting. I will be updating everyone who purchased this week on their packages and some additional benefits that have arisen since it was advertised. The committee have had one meeting, a few days ago, and people are already shouting for minutes, websites, social media, constitutions etc. Give them a chance to organise themselves. As I have just said anyone who has joined will receive an update from me soon and then I'm sure one from the committee soon after.

The London Broncos are not going anywhere and the SC is there to assist the club. A very separate issue to the question I posed which was why are people so hell bent on the club signing players when the likelihood is we will not be starting the season during the normal months and some additional costs are coming our way through the next lockdown?

If you want to know more about the SC why don't you email me to discuss, I am very approachable and happy to answer your questions on that or any of the clubs current fundraising efforts.

Ive got no issues with the SC, I actually think it is a good idea and im sure it will grow. No doubt these things take time. My only reason not to join is that I want to know where the club are heading before I do so. I understand the club cannot give answers it does not know, thats why Im sitting tight. My own personal choice, if the club does go PT, I see that as the start of the death of the club as I cannot see how we could make SL. I know its been discussed on here and others think differently, thats fine, each to their own. My opinion, the club has lurched from one bad decision to the next, if it is starting to finally get its act together, then great, but it may take time for me (and maybe others) to come round.
Re players, Id say its just a natural reaction for sports fans, they see other clubs signing players yet we all hear about our players going the other way. What makes sense or not does not matter!!! Im also a west ham fan and its the same boat with them, why is everyone else signing players and we are not !!! I just worry that when we do get around to next season, we wont have much of a squad to compete with, but maybe time will tell

I totally understand, and respect, your viewpoint and thank you for expressing it in a well thought out and reasonable manner. The reason I took the time to respond to you was because you have always done that.

Nobody knows how things are going to look in 2021 and any '5 year plan' of course has to be finalised once the landscape is clear. Nobody is sat on their hands here and we are working very hard to ensure the club is in a position to make the very best of any outcome but these are worrying times economically so spending cash at the moment is a risk for any business.

If the club had come out with this officially, a lot more people would be sitting at home feeling a little more like LB Management are in control. Its good its been shared on this forum, but it deserves a wider audience.

What i do finf dissapointing, not surprised though, are those people who are suggesting that if the club has to downsize ti become a part time outfit that they would walk away.
