Sadly despite my desire to see the back of Ralph Rimmer. He is not going to resign from a job that pays him a lot more than the Prime Minister! Change must come or the sports decline will continue, ultimately leading to its demise.

Agree completely, and the review panel for the future of the game with Ralph, Saints chairman Eamonn McManus & Leeds Rhinos CEO Gary Hetherington does not inspire me in the least.
Same with the plaudits of St Helens being the Grand Final winners for the third year on the row! praise was given to the referee by most journalists, I thought he was inconsistent to say the least, why does how video referee not advise the referee as with the NRL Bunker of wrong decisions? two made by Referee Liam I question, and the serious error with the linesman, with the penalty by Catalan, judged completely wrongly! I do not agree with the patting back of the ball into play, if it has crossed the libe for me it is Out!

Agree with you jaybs crosses the line its out as in football. But we have seen silly stuff in Union where players have played the ball over the line just by jumping & now we have cricketers running over the boundary line to pat the ball back into play & catch it. It's just not cricket, well it is but you know what I mean.
Sad the Cats didn't win but hey ho. Did Saints get investigated in the end for covid breach jaybs or was it all brushed under the carpet?

You couldn't make it up, not much integrity there. A covid breach is a covid breach. Failing to fulfill a fixture is failing to fulfill a fixture. So much for the integrity of the competition. Clearly the Championship has higher standards than SL.
Fingers crossed Toulouse smash Fev tonight if the Officials allow them to.

St Helens get away with it once again, what fine was imposed on Castleford?
Castleford Tigers Website
'Castleford Tigers are fined £35,000 (£15,000 suspended for two years) for failing to fulfil a Betfred Super League fixture against St Helens on 30 June and for breaching Covid protocols on the return coach journey from the Betfred Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium in July'
St Helens chairman is on the planning panel for the sport??
I will never forgive St Helens, the club grew up in until I was 21! then I became involved in amateur youth rugby league, after an injury, we had some real talented youngsters, many from Ray French’s grammar school he taught at Cowley, who he threatened to ban from playing Union? for the school. Andy Platt played for us, great young guys, never forget him calling me one day at work, he wanted to speak to me before he signed the deal to join St Helens and discuss it with me, he was at Knowsley Road, with his uncle. One other top player for us joined The Academy, The second season he invited me to The St Helens Player of the Year Award, he had been selected as Academy Player of the Year, he was over the moon! he received the award, and was called to one side shortly after, to inform him they would not be retaining him! He went to play amateur football, The Wire offered him a deal, but he was broken. 9 Under 16 amateur sides from St Helens played in The NW Youth League, Saints were not satisfied with that, they started their own under 16 side, the next season it was down to 3 sides in the town, how short sighted! The final nail, was watching a Broncos match at Knowsley Road, which we drew, of course I had my Broncos Polo shirt on, as we left the stand, and we climbed the steps to the exit, 4 Saints supporters started pushing me around, and hitting me, no one did a thing?
Never been to the stupid unfinished totally wicked stadium, and never will! a Town of 175,000, our council invested in the stadium financially big! no car park? and the developer still has land at the side boarded off at the side of the ground, and what attendances do they now attract? 3 time grand final winners, no wonder the game is struggling!
One RL website is reporting this morning, after the Success of Toulouse last night, fans took to social media saying, Let Catalan & Toulouse play a Derby Match every week against each other! That sadly sums up the M62 corridor mentality of many in the sport.
It is reported Premier Sports are paying £200,000 for coverage of Championship games, how much will the clubs themselves receive, shall we hold our breath?

In Super League all teams are equal, just some teams are more equal than others. Leeds, Wigan and St Helens to my mind are treated differently in all respects. It is no coincidence that of the winners of Super League these three make up the bulk. Only Bradford who at one time too were favoured but they threw fell out of favour. I personally drew much joy from us beating Leeds, Wigan and St Helens during our 2019 SL season. The season when we were robbed of our place by that dodgy decision at Huddersfield.

That must of hurt emotionally jaybs being from there & still living there which is worse than the physical pain at the time.
The bizarre thing about the league statement was to say their fine was small because they'd had lost income through their own stupidity. Sounds very dodgy handshake situation!!!
You would think by now, the northern hoards would realise RL has nowhere to go up there. If it is going to move forward (not sure it can but Toulouse is a bit of a shot in the arm where Toronto never was) it has to move forward away from the M62.
