Which other Championship club costs more than £25 as the cheapest adult entrance price?

In fact which SL club costs more for the cheapest adult entry price?

Indeed, hence inexplicable why they do so little to grow the fan base.

What is it you would like to see them do?

*Give free tickets away? Tried that, people don't come again.
*Sign Jarrod Croker? Tried the big name, even the Aussies based in London don't care.
*Reduce the price? See my previous comments.
*Spend money on magic marketing to suddenly turn people into Rugby League fans? Who is going to pay for it whilst the club is losing millions?
*Give tickets to Junior teams? They don't turn up. Most of them would have to travel for hours.

I am genuinely interested in seeing your plan to increase attendance. If it is good then I can ensure the owner and CEO get to hear it and look at putting it into practice. Just remember, as per point 4, there isn't any money for a magic marketing campaign on the underground or in the Evening Standard. Your plan has to be free.

Sounds like we might as well pack up and go home then. At some point someone needs to try and build the fan base, will prob take an initial outlay for long term results but as we stand we are sleepwalking along. Looking around at the squads in the Champ, I cant see us having enough to trouble a few other sides, we just dont have the depth.

Hughes has kept us going, and fair play but he has made so many mistakes with the club its his own fault he is having to pay out!!!

If this is the prevailing view at the club then you rather underline my point. Why be so negative if growing the fan base is essential to sustainability ? It's not right to simply accept the situation.

There have been times in our history when the home fan base has been much more healthy. We have actually seen a steady decline over around ten years so the drop to Championship probably has little to do with this. In fact, as a fan we are arguably a more entertaining prospect as a competitive Championship club than a poor SL one.

Personally, I don't accept that there is no audience for RL in a city the size of London where many other non traditional sports can attract decent crowds. RL is a relatively simple, fast and exciting game so we also have a great product.

I would dispute most of your specific claims:

Giving away free tickets - it perhaps depends who are giving tickets to and how you follow up with them. I suspect many of our core fan base were first brought to a game by someone else who was already a fan and got into the game as a result. They would have explained what was going on so you could easily get into the game. If the club is just giving away tickets to random people without taking the trouble to nurture them then is it any surprise they don't come back.

Signing big names - what evidence do you have that this doesn't work ? There is another thread on here about our best players. A lot of the players being mentioned are from times when we had a bigger fan base. If you actually look at the data there is a direct correlation between our best average attendances in SL and our win %. In the past, better players and therefore teams have coincided with bigger crowds. Fact.

Reduce the price - if this doesn't work then why is it used in so many other situations ? Perhaps the club don't execute and follow up very well on this. Who is being targetted ?

Spend money on magic marketing to suddenly turn people into Rugby League fans? - While many in London do not know about RL, there is an abundance of sports fans. With football and RU become increasingly sanitised, perhaps RL has somewhat of a USP. If we can get sports fans to games, and make sure they understand what is going on then some of them will like it and come back. However, we also need to improve the overall experience. Again, something we have done so much better in the past. Think back to the days of Chris Warren, the matchday experience included half time kids games, post match interviews in the bar, bands etc. Seemingly much more energy was put in to attracting people to games.

So let's be more positive. We have a great game and a (hopefully competitive) Championship team. That is the bedrock of what the club need. The rest is down to the club making the experience as good as it can be and targetting the right people. Like any successful venture that will require effort and investment.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!

As for my post, I didnt say cheapest ticket all I said was there are more expensive tickets out there for championship games.
London charge a single price where some other clubs can have a range of prices.
Agree with previous poster about the match day experience, personally I dont care about the experience I watch the game I go home
I did t need beer to enjoy rugby.
How to get more in is and always will be a dilemma but it has been said many times until a new investor aka toronto style comes in then the club will continue to trundle along.
As for free tickets for local clubs, might work, it didnt last time for an obvious reason. But that's history.
Why dont the 1000s of aussies and kiwis come, probably coz most dont rate SL compared to NRL.
Promote the game! Easier said than done, would the investment pay off?
Fact is its 25£ to get in, how does that compare with RU, Football, local quiditch league not got a clue I am a rugby league fan. If its 25 so be it, I dont care how much it is to get in at saints we ain't gonna play em unless its CC

Rugby league & the London Broncos have been underpriced for years. The flagship Odeon Leicester Square “Luxe Recliner” seats are £40.75, the Tower of London £27.50, the London Eye £36.00 & the Shard as much as £39.00.

Monkey Lover I've already told you what my plan is. It was free. It was speak to the two Broncos fans at Dulwich Hamlet who have masterminded their rise from gates of 170 to the 10th best supported non league team. Their method at Dulwich, whilst not 100% transferable, was free. You sneered on the grounds one was a librarian band couldn't possibly know what to do.

Sadly he died on December 20th. That source of knowledge is now lost. The other one remains a Broncos season ticket holder and had offered to meet the club for free.

Your/ the club's call

Edited to say last time you accused me of trying to get a job. I am an IT professional and don't have the skill set. The bloke who has previously offered to meet the Broncos for free and had them cancel the meeting also has no interest in a job at the club. You need a methodology and someone with local contacts to execute. He is a South east Londoner who will put the Hamlet first.

You yourself said the schools work will take years to come to fruition. Do we have years? What does the club have to lose from speaking to him? (If he's still willing to after the shoddy way he and his late friend have been treated to date. Only a librarian eh.)

The clubs fan base is not local to where they play.
The folk of ealing do t give two hoots about rugby league.
The folk of Twickenham didnt give two hoots about rugby league neither did those in brentford.
Look at the demographic of the current 1000 ish hard core I put money on its spread pretty evenly 25 miles ish away from the ground with some a lot further.
The problem is how do you cover that sort of area with publicity.

This is hardly a unique problem for a business.
