Have to be happy with that.. Especially with 8 first teamers out.

Hoping for revenge now next weekend.

A big win. Bit disappointed in Dewsbury as overall they did not offer as much as expected. We played some nice stuff, defended well for a long period. But we did look a little disjointed on a number of occasions. Some of the passing was poor, Meadows is not that tall, and in completing some of the sets we were not quite sure. Play selection needs to improve and understanding of positioning. That said with a side that had around 8 players who have come through our academy and at least half of that in thier first year of first team there are a number of positives. And we did benefit from a couple of older heads in the forwards reappearing as sets the platform for the halves.

We were only 6 up after 30. The game was 50;50 at that stage. We didn't look very structured with the ball in hand until the game got away from Dewsbury. On several occasions we messed up the final play. Still plenty to work on for the big one next week,
If we beat Leigh they will struggle to chase us down for the top 4. Big game next week.

I think we struggled early on as our confidence must have taken a hit recently

A win like this is what was needed for the confidence. We had a real fluency at the start of the season, was it because we were trying to force the play all the time instead of playing percentage game. Interested in the comment that meadows is not that tall, not sure how that effects his game! How did he get on?

At the beginning of the season Meadow was pushing long wide balls out, yesterday he seems very constrained playing short balls

Hes not big in stature but he is tall.

What were they like with possession and giving away penalties? Any better?

If your having to reach above your head to catch the pass it’s hardly great opportunity to build the move. One pass to Meadows stood out but there were a number of very poor passes.

Ah so you were not having a dig at meadows for not being tall enough, but passing technique, that’s fair enough that’s all I was asking.
Back to the other question, any obvious reason why the timing and fluency seems to have gone? Trying to push things to much? Panic?
