National coverage is great. You cannot have too much of that. If it is the club that are getting us all this press, great. Bums on seats though, is what the club needs.

Has there been anything in the Metro or Standard offering season tickets or tempters with Wakey tickets

Not that I have seen.
In the early days of Super League when we played Charlton. There were vouchers offering entry to games for a fiver in The Sun. I got a group of lads who worked for one of my customers to attend regularly through this offer. Sadly when we moved to the Stoop they gave up going.

Think it has to be driven by the club going to the press getting the articles space.
It’s free advertising as well.
Hope it reaps some rewards with interest in the club.
Offering cheap deals or freebies apart from early bird tickets is always a balancing act, start offering freebies or discounts at wrong time it just discourages folk from buying at normal price, and hacks off those that have already paid for tickets.
