What's so complex about that? Lesser teams appear in the bigger numbers the better teams appear later on. If there is an imbalance(unequal number!) like the next round then you factor in the lesser teams from SL to make the numbers correct which they've done. Its not exactly science. Unless you want byes - would that simplify it for you

or would you prefer Leeds Wigan etc in the 128 and have a straight run to the line for that round?

Play the CC as it was, started with pre lims, 3 early rounds then all the pro teams entered at the same round

i suspect McNamara is going to be sacked anytime soon, and Catalan may bounce back, but i would be happy to play them anyway, on 20 April it is likely to be 20+C and it would be nice to play in the sun...................
