He has. I believe there was an article about him studying or some such on the website which explained he had concussion. Along with much of our squad he can be found on match day with friends and family in his tracksuit. He’s been a good player for us but I have a feeling his race is run unfortunately. I can see him doing well in his post RL career, he seems to have a bit about him.
I’m sure the fact we had only one fully fit Prop was factored in when we let Navarette go ( to, in theory, one of our main competitors.) for free. Oh hold on.......
Indeed we are HT but I always think the insurance policy of letting players go to other top 6 sides helps with that. I believe it is a policy that other successful sides have followed through the years.
Seriously though why do people think we got rid of Navarette. As far as I can see there are only the following rationales for getting rid of a player without a fee: 1) we haven’t got a pot 2) Surplus to requirements 3) the player is a trouble maker. I assume it’s a sub set of 1). I guess he was on a decent wage and not delivering to the extent that he was felt to be necessary to keep. My feeling was he could make an impact but tended to be a flat track bully. He could play well or fade. Having said that we are really thin in that position- so basically it was a crackers decision. I’m sure he could have hung on in England for a couple of months more especially with lockdown ending.
Interesting bit on BBC local news about Crystal Palace Sports Centre & stadium. Looking at how the ground is crumbling with weeds growing, rusty metalwork & a few rats, all rather reminiscent of the clubs decline.
