Did anyone with nothing better to do, find themselves at RP for the trials? Given the lack of anything on "X" I wonder if it took place!

Kyle Amor would say ‘it sure is’! Me I think it would be great if we could sign up a winger, maybe two before January.

So seems we have about a dozen trialist to add to the Magnificent 11. Although I see Cake is suggesting some could be Acadamy or Reserves or for the future. Still a lot of work to do then.

I’m assuming open trialists are anyone who rocks up and they are more likely to be shy of the standard whereas trialists are potentially players with some experience where both sides are seeing if playing in London will work out. I’m assuming they are more likely to be taken on. I think there were 6 of the latter and I expect they will be signed which leaves us meeting the minimum threshold of 17. Just like the Coleman days, the real problem is not the low number of players, although that is a massive problem, but the lack of a leader on the pitch, someone to direct us around the pitch. You will recall back then we were reduced to loaning in players for two week spells to do the job like Chisholm. One thing is for certain this season is going to be interesting….but frankly I’m dreading it.

As it stands, not finishing bottom is almost success. We've had horrid seasons before, who can forget 2014? We do however need a sugar daddy from somewhere because we will not increase our fans & income with a losing side.

Your distinction between open ‘trialists’ and ‘experienced trialists’ is correct. Open trials are likely to attract a mixed bag in terms of quality. In contrast, those experienced trialists are probably players with some pedigree or potential who are genuinely exploring a move to London. If the club can sign a solid core from that group and meet the minimum squad numbers, it’s a start. Still, as you say, the real issue is the lack of an on-field general (and probably a goal kicker too), and as we've seen before a strong General can transform a team, especially in those tough moments when you need someone to steady the ship or turn the tide. Without that kind of player, the team could struggle, no matter how much effort they put in. It does feel like history might repeat itself if we don’t address that key issue (even with Eccles in charge) so let’s hope the club plans to bring in that vital leadership soon!

Essentially London Broncos are at a crossroads. While challenges such as financial difficulties and ownership changes are significant, the club’s proactive steps toward growth and improvement showcase its resilience. By maintaining their strategic focus and attracting the right leadership and investment, the Broncos can hopefully look forward to a revitalised future and a return to prominence in the rugby league community. The challenges posed by the new IMG grading system haven't helped either.
