IMG criteria make London a 2nd tier side at best. The emphasis on fan engagement and the associated fiscal stability is the opposite of Hughes last 15 years attitude of I pay, its my club, f34k the fans. The stadium and catchment area we score well in, but performance, finances and Fandom <?> we get pummeled by many others. If we are heading for the knackers yard, then trailfinders would have been fine, because Hughes could put adverts across London media offering free season tickets and he'd still not get his 5k guys, such is the damage he's done

Hughes has never understood what needed to be done. The criteria weightings are right though, clubs who have focused on building the fanbase, engaging with supporters and sustainable finances deserve to be rewarded. This is much harder than finding a stadium and just expecting people to rock up. The thing that annoys me most is that you only had to look at the club's own history to see what could work.
